Think that through please Gents, why would the league or Morestead go for that? You cant just cut and re-sign at a lower salary to clear cap. This season is not an option for Morestead and the Saints. |

There are a lot of moving parts to player transactions, not the easiest thing to asses all areas of. I am only aware of many of them because of how much time I have spent trying t understand contracting and cap to be able to give qualitative comments here. I think most of that was done surrounding how the Jimmy Gram thing might play out.

Yeah! That Jimmy Graham affair was fun to follow. The NFLPA had the perfect test case they had been looking for for years to pursue concerning franchise tag designations. They wanted either LB/DE or TE/WR to challenge. Either could set the precedent. I've been a fan of the contract and cap side of things for many years given it is basically cost accounting, the favorites of all the accounting courses that I took back in school.
