No no... think about this... the opening drive took 9:37 the clock didn't stop for at least 6 plus minutes, no incomplete passes no running out of bounds, no penalties.. it was perfect. That opening drive is what I think won the game for the Saints. You had an offense whom I assume was ready to go and couldn't wait to get on the field and you sat them down for 9:37, iced them.

RE: Great Game Saints
Gotta agree with you here Euph. That first drive really set the tone for the game. 9:37 is crazy. I couldn't believe it! I looked at the clock and saw less than 6 minutes remaining and was awe struck. AB was 7 for 7 (I think) on that drive. Amazing! Almost ten minutes of that quarter went to the Saints on the first drive. A touchdown no less! On the first drive!!! You gotta love that. We had trouble all of last year just scoring in the first quarter, let alone the first drive of the game. This was a great win and a tribute to the fans and the Katrina victims.
What a great win! |

RE: Great Game Saints
The Carolina fans were going crazy at the game yesterday because we were doing so good. One guy told me that what happened to his defense. I told him its not his defense it is our offense and offensive line that did the job.

RE: Great Game Saints
I think another very important thing to point out here that I haven't see anywhere was that we had 9 penalties for 74, only 2 or 3 in the first half I think, 0! on the first drive, and one of the first half ones was on brown (i'll attribute that to a rookie mistake Also I don't remember any drive killers, I think a good amount of those were Defensive. Also it appeared to be a fairly well called came. I just loved that first drive.

RE: Great Game Saints
No one was making mention of the drive in the highlights of the game but that was incredible, open drive of the season and you eat up almost 10 minutes it totally ices the other teams offense. The clock never stopped, no out of bounds, no penalties, no incompletes. That is what they should be talking about... I am sure by the end of the week they will be. You want flauless game/drive that was it. You won't see them play better than that on offense, credit goes to Sheppard.

That first drive almost made me shed a tear, especially after they showed the graphic that we were the only team in the entire league last year not to score a single point on any opening drive. That was amazing, and to get over that hurdle game one against a top flight D? There are no words.....
