Comeback Player of the Year favorite

Saints receiver Michael Thomas isn’t listed, but should be.

On the list for what Charean Williams would call “coming back from sucking” are Colts quarterback Carson Wentz (+900), Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold (+1600), and Saints quarterback Jameis Winston (+3300).

more here for the complete list

Coming back from sucking should include Cam Newton.

Winston...anybody? It may not be likely but it's very possible. At least that is what most of us are hoping to see happen.

Michael Thomas.

Lots of the national talking heads throwing around who's the best WR and Thomas isn't even mentioned...

Closest comparison to @CantGuardMike would be Davante Adams, who's Rodgers only legit target...

Only other two in that league of WR would be DeAndre Hopkins and Julio Jones, and am curious to see how Julio and the Titans get on this season...

JP...How do you rate Diggs out of curiosity?

Stephon Diggs? Until he exploded with the Bucks, thought his best moment was that reception which shall not be recollected...

But Diggs and Josh Allen (who I said was the BPA in the 2018 Draft) really have something good going and they just need a legit RB1 and they're right there with the Chiefs...

Top 10 WR1 in the NFL:

  1. Michael Thomas

  2. DeAndre Hopkins

  3. Julio Jones

  4. Devante Adams

  5. Tyreek Hill

  6. Odell Beckham

  7. Robert Woods

  8. Mike Evans

  9. Allen Robinson II

  10. Stephon Diggs

Honorable Mention: Adam Thielen

Why? He may be better with a better QB (Diggs MIN > BUF)

In fact, with that Bills DST, they may be the better team; HC Sean McDermott is a Top 5 NFL HC (Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, Bruce Arians, Sean Payton, and McDermott)...

Thanks for your thoughts! Solid ranking from what my limited perspective gives. Calvin Ridley springs to mind as a solid player as well. What are your thoughts on him ?

Curious situation with Julio Jones having a new zip code; Ridley, an elite WRz, will face more CB1s now; but the ATL will also have TE Kyle Pitts...

Sure the ATL is hoping for a WRz/TE1 combination like the KC Chefs have with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce; KC has had a revolving door at their WRx...

Atlanta will also now have a void at their WRx; this may allow the Saints to put Marshon on an island and rotate the secondary to Ridley's side at the WRz...

Like our chances and considering these factors, certain looks like Ridley is set to regress some this season; so it'll be interesting to see if he responds...

Is Pitts the second coming of the best tight ends?

That's the way he was billed. Completely unstoppable. A matchup nightmare along the lines of Darren Waller. We'll see how it pans out, however. If anyone can screw it up it's the Falcons.

We shall see; as I referenced during the draft, Vernon Davis was taken by Frisco at slot no. 6 in the first round and was suppose to revolutionize the game...

He had a decent career, one season he was named second team All-Pro, only two Pro-Bowls; won a Superbowl Ring with DEN where he had no receptions...

That's a bust for that high a pick. Now Pitts has that same athletic advantage, but this is the NFL, where linemen run a 4.6; Reggie Bush wasn't as special in the NFL...

So the A-T-L took the risk, and I've never turned down some good schadenfreude; but we've got the personnel to check him...

^^^ No hate on Falcons draft pick Pitts, however I see him as Vernon Davis 2.0. Has all the measurables, physical traits & tools you can ask for but will it translate at the next level ? … risky but we shall see. Superstardom is no guarantee.

For what it's worth, Kittle and Kelce' were mid rounders and arguably the best in the league at TE.

But now teams are looking for that type of TE and with the increased demand they're likely going to be drafted earlier and earlier. That said, you can still find gems later mixed in amongst the coal heap.

Surprised that Jadaveon Clowney isn't listed. He could rebound with the Browns, whose defense is probably a better fit for him.

Re: Comeback Player of the Year favorite

Joe Burrow is a good candidate from that list.

He was playing extremely well before the season ending injury. Still kind of surprised they went with Chase with their 1st overall pick in the draft this year.

Maybe it will be Brees if he comes back at the last minute! 🤪

Blind hog finds an acorn. 2/3rds of the other players drafted in the rounds with them are selling insurance. Talent can be found throughout the draft, however, the chances of getting lucky enough to come across it diminishes continuously as the picks grow later.

By the way, Kelce was taken with the 63rd overall pick of the draft, the first pick of the 3rd round. There were only 30 2nd round picks in 2013. That really doesn't qualify as a midround pick.

And Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, amazing that acorns you can find throughout the draft...

I like Adebo on pver Janoris already. If plays to the levels of Janoris last year cool, if he plays better than that good, but if his game translates GREAT.

Jenkins really helped our secondary grow by leaps and bounds. He made some gaffes but the good things far out shone them. If Abedo can give us the same production then I'll be truly stoked. Training camp can't get here soon enough.
