Defense
Is this still the worst defense in the league? They gave up 350 net yards. 209 net passing and 141 in rushing. This was about the average for last season in rushing and 30 yards less on passing. On 9 Carolina possessions and 27:24 total time of possession:
Two touchdowns Two field goals Defended one 3 play drive that forced a punt (4 plays with the holding penalty against the Panthers) one 1 play (2 plays with the illegal touching penalty) drive that ended the first half. Two interceptions One fumble 5 penalties totaling 53 yards and 4 automatic first downs. Two touchdowns allowed in 3 redzone visits, with one turnover The Saints are ranked 19th of 30 teams that have played thus far based on yards allowed. Tied for 14th of 30 teams that have played thus far based on points allowed. |

You can't pull the stats done with one game and say they are ranked number one and have a straight face. You really need 3-4 games, when you have a trend, then you can with some preservations rankings. Lets hope that the Panthers lines are as good as they say they are and we did really well against them. Its kind of hard to see where the Panthers are yet.
