I've talked to people who believe that the original owner of the Saints didn't actually want to win. These are guys older than me, I'm 54, who remember this time too well.

Maybe they believe that because he did things like hire an astronaut as the GM instead of someone with a football background.

We are near enough the same age Stick and my pop says the same thing (He’s still around thank the Lord !). He still says the same thing about a few NFL franchises today and a good portion of MLB baseball teams.

Weren't the Meachem's know for selling the Saints draft picks?
