I used to be in that number. There is a fan base there. They usually meet at a bar downtown, Shoal Creek Saloon. It was fun for a while. But alas, all good things come to an end as one of the wait staff broke and stepped on my spectacles. And they refused to accept responsibility for it. So I never went back, when I lived there. Food is so so, compared to Louisiana.
There are others if you google for them. I recall Lavaca something or the other. I can't vouch for any other venues other than your typical sports bar with a million screens. There is one of those downtown Austin also. For a cool bar, The Mean Cat is pretty cool, a dive bar. Not sure if covid has affected any of them.

Still enjoying Austin! Had some excellent. BBQ at Salt Lick and
enjoyed a baseball game at the Round Rock Express minor league AAA team. I’m here for another week if any Austin Saints fans are around! |

If you can, try Franklin's BBQ and Stubb's downtown. Cooper's is also great. And don't forget to get you some Torchy's tacos whether breakfast or regular.
If you're in for a Hill Country ride, try Opie's in Spicewood. Dry Comal Creek Winery & Vineyards in New Braunfels, and drive to Wimberly for lunch. The Oasis isn't what it used to be, having now become a commercial monstrosity. The view is still great, however. The Elephant Room has good music too. The Texas museum by UT is awesome also. And the Texas Capitol, where you get to learn just why the Texas star is a five pointed star.

I've been to all locations, Padre Island, Galveston, and New Braunfels. Hands down the best one is New Braunfels. There are slides built into the hill. They were supposed to open one in Cedar Park, but those plans fell through.
