Nick Underhill was probably one of the first to report JW having more "lucrative" offer(s) elsewhere.

I want to say Jacksonville, Chicago, WFT & San Diego were a few of those teams calling.

Circle back to just last season when the Saints embarassed Tampa/Brady on national tv. The "media" found tons of excuses for Golden Boy & very little praise of Brees.

I'd expect more of the same if Winston has similar success against his former team.

Using Nick Underhill’s premiss “Theoretical Winston vs Theoretical Hill” Winston is the winner. I tend to agree but I also think it will come down to can this team operate with same level of efficiency not having Hill playing all the multiple roles he has over the last 3 years. Might not be Hill stated goal but he brings much more value to the team being everywhere man than being the starting QB and in the end it’s about the team.

That's been my take since the potential "competition" came into being.

Underhill is that rare smart, respected journalist with an under the radar good working relationship with Sean; Sean is likely tipping his hand via Underhill...

Originally I didn't even want Winston on my team. To me his history was scary both on and off the field. Eating the W is still sharp in my mind but I'm willing to give the young man a chance to prove me wrong and redeem himself to the NFL and viewers. He's apparently worked hard under Drew and Payton to fix his short comings. He got his eyes fixed and that could alleviate a lot of his bad decisions with a clearer view of the field. Studying film under Drew though has to be the best thing for him to get away from bad decision making because maybe now he actually understands the concepts learned from hours alongside a future HOF'er.

I'm not dismissing Hill. I love that guy and what he brings to the team with his infectious enthusiasm and his Swiss army knife role on the offense and special teams. I've seen him QB a few games and my feeling is that he has reached his ceiling as a QB but he is still a valuable chess piece for Payton.

I’m excited about the prospect of a RB based offense and a stud possession guy like CGM coupled with QBs that can truly air the ball out. I hope/expect
to see more gadget/easy TDs like the one in the Tampa Playoff game. I’d have a WR run a fly or deep post EVERY PLAY and throw it to Calloway or Smith any time they were single covered. They’d have to guard against it and it would open up TE routes all over.

Whether it's Taysom or Jameis under center, being in sync with Alvin Kamara will be critical in this offense.

This is true. Sean Payton will continue his offensive scheme based upon defensive looks. Kamara is the weapon that can be used in both versions of the play options. That said, Trautman can fit a complimentary role. He has the ability to block on the run and can be a total mismatch on the pass option.
