Chris Sims seems to like him better than Winston.

He said he liked Wyatt Earp more than Tombstone as well. So he has no credibility.

It was funny to read how infuriating it was last year to take Drew off the field and putting Taysom in for a gimmick play.

I lost track of how many drives were stalled because of those moves last year.

Didn't get that one either.

Especially when Brees was in rhythm.

Absolutely. You defined Brees using the term rhythm. It should make JP overjoyed to hear that those were times that Payton drew my temporary ire.

Wasn't fair to either player to do that...

God forbid if he winds up running a dual QB system with these two turds. They can’t get into rhythm on their own practice field. Both of these guys seem to be getting worse. I definitely haven’t read anything that leads me to believe either of these guys are actually getting better.

While it hasn’t seemed like much good news has been there, there still is hope. Hill had an effective first drive and was inside the 10 until the fumble. Likewise Winston had a good drive. Without Kamara. Honestly, as bad as most of the running game looked I’m just as, if not more worried there.

A couple of things to consider are that the defense in these practices know the offensive plays (and players) better than any outside opponent. The other factor is that the defense these guys are facing every day is one of the very best in the league.

To be honest, I would be far more concerned if Hill and Winston were constantly having their way with the defense. And don't forget that Brees would be throwing three or four picks some training camp practices trying to push the envelope to see how much he could get away with.

And I cannot envision Payton going with a two QB system at all. Winston as the starter and Hill having a few packages, sure, but not any sort of material number of sets.

Pretty much my way of looking at it.

That lack of continuity makes a lot of sense, as well.

Getting into a rhythm really matters to a QB. Everyone knows the feeling of getting into a rhythm and how that affects the task at hand. Drew would have had better numbers last year if Payton didn't insist on putting Hill in at the worst possible times. Maybe he was trying to gauge Hill's effectiveness under center. I don't know what the plan was but it made me wonder what Sean was thinking.
