of the QBs IMO to be honest. Thought Winston would have stepped up by now. maybe not.

Prior to the first preseason game Payton had said one of them would start the first game and the other the second game. Since Hill got the first, Winston was getting the second. The starter on next Saturday will also start week one.

Seimian will get his shot to make the roster Monday night. If he doesn't play well he could be a roster cut and we put Book on the final 53 as the third string QB. However if Winston becomes the starter Hill will go back to his Swiss army knife role then Book becomes the back up QB.

Siemian didn't get a snap last week. If he doesn't this week he's gone. Has Payton said he's definitely playing, yet?

We know Siemian was signed after Drews injury, good move bringing in a Journeyman QB. But this guy is a walking IR A-Lister. Be interesting to see how much longer he will be around.

Wouldn't it be something if Book ended up as the starter this season? I've been holding off with the Winston/Hill debate, both have strong points but both have their down side, gonna depend on what scheme Payton wants to run, Book though is a timed qb. more the way Payton has run things since he's been here. If Winston gets the start and throws int.'s or if Hill can't hit the wr.'s I think Payton will pull both of them, enter Book. The rookie is sitting in a pretty good spot right now.

Payton is letting each of them play with the 1's. I read somewhere before the season started that Hill and Winston would be alternating starts during preseason. So it's more like his turn.

Can't believe neither of these guys has made enough of an impact where this quarterback question isn't answered yet.

Might as well throw Book in with the 1's and see what he can do for crying out loud.

I'll guarantee you the QB question is already answered. We just don't know the answer. Payton does.

Yeah, it would take something crazy like the starter to get hurt and the backup to struggle. Or even for 2 QBs to get hurt and the third backup is needed. But stuff like that never happens in the NFL. It’s not like a team would be forced to play with NO QBs or anything like that. Much more likely that a guy out of the league for years would get a shot over your third string QB.🤣

What exactly is the down side of each of the other two QBs? Please limit your answer to what has been seen in practice and games in the last 5 weeks.

Yes, injuries do happen, but I was addressing the chance of both Winston and Hill being benched because of poor play. I put that chance at 0%, the same as TO playing for us.

I was wondering the same. While neither are what you would call elite, from every indication both have been looking as good in camp as most starters across the league.

I agree and would be surprised/disappointed if Owens or Book got a start this year.

Prepare to be disappointed.jk I'm not impressed with either QB so far. None of the camp reports or playing time last week shows that neither QB is all that good. Book might get his shot this season.

They both looked solid last week given a backup offensive line against one of the best defenses in the league. They've both also looked good throughout camp. Sure, they've each had bad moments. Name a QB that hasn't during camp.

Boston,

Saints have a proven HC, an above average oline and an ELITE RB.

It's hard to replace a first ballot HOF QB but we'll be ok brother.
