As a landlord and also from a former tenant perspective, there has to be a justification/proof for an amount to sue for. You can't just make up a number just because you think it's a strategy or whatever. You'll be laughed out of the courtroom. It's not like a defamation or some other similar suit. So there is something yet undisclosed to support an amount like that. It's more likely the media has yet to divulge additional details. Brees in his suit with the jeweler had common sense basis for his claim. We shall see with MT.

The basis was that it somehow screwed up his training routine. I can't see him winning that or even being able to associate an amount, so at least he can get the deposit back, which may be the goal to begin.

Right... we are not privy yet to the details of the suit... which was my point. ;)

That's really not going to help me much since I'm 62. Maybe I should adopt.

I will pull for him to play well but I'm not pulling for the player.

of a record setting, non-diva type WR has since had questions arise about his behavior. Be it with the way he responded to Brees to the way he fought with a teammate and had a team suspension to the way he chose to have his surgery at an inconvenient time for the team. These are not the actions of a team leader in my option. He earned and is being payed top WR dollars. I don’t think it’s too much to ask as a fan that the player that takes on this financial gain also take on a certain responsibility with that kind of contract. It’s the difference between being a Marcus Colston or being a Terrell Owens.

I am inclined to agree with this. Maybe I am expecting too much from him, based on pre-payday production. Calling him Terrell Owens at this point, might be a stretch.

The other beef is how some solely blame Brees for Thomas doing absolutely zero upon his return last year. Pitch and catch = two players at fault.

Again, same as last year he will be out a few games, will see how he responds to returning this season. My hope is that Calloway and others rise to the occasion and Thomas continues to be as insignificant as he was last season and will be the first 6 weeks of this season.

Great Take, and I'll add this...

Fire your personal manager, at the very least, clean house on who's advising him in his dealings, public image, daily life plan and goals...

Second, #FindJesus and #GetHumbleBeforeGod; Larry Bird talked about what the #BigMo does to pro athletes, and this looks text book...

Third, visit, get with Larry Fitzgerald; greatest receiver of his era, and more importantly, one of the elites as an NFL Pro; embrace his sage wisdom and advice...

Thomas definitely needs to reassess the way he approaches life. People are truly happier when they don't think of themselves first but want to spread good vibes. Can't call Mike needs a different mojo. :beatnik:

I’d love to see Thomas score a touchdown and softly lay the ball down on the ground.

No muscleman poses - leave your statement in your playing

The guy broke records not even 2 years ago. You "grumpy old men" type seem to forget this. And I'm 45. He has definitely left a statement in his playing so far. None of you seem to bring this up when Gronk spikes the ball or anyone else doing some form of celebrating, like Brees shaking his fist after a TD. I hate some politicize everything. There's nothing wrong with criticizing things. It's just a bad look when there's zero consistency because......well, you put a political spin on everything.

Politics and sports have to meet when players demonstrate during the national anthem. It is the players that invite it. Not grumpy old men.

Yeah. Because Gronk is known for ****ting all over his team and being a selfish ******* on social media.

Jimmy Graham used to spike the ball over the uprights. But he loved his team.

And since you brought up politics. I sincerely hope you feel safe when you put your mask on when you go into a restaurant, then take it off when you're sitting down. HUUUUGE difference. When you sit, you're safer. Lol. Keep eating that spoon fed garbage.

The "grumpy old men" weren't huge fans of TO or any of the like that put themselves above the team, BEFORE the kneeling and the BS that has erupted.

You should call them grumpy old Patriots. You obviously lost your way.

We just want to watch football.

I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep if MT got traded. Loved the WR with a chip on his shoulder. Not a fan of the guy who **** all over a class act QB that left everything on the field.

But that's just my opinion.

Yep. It is your opinion, but this whole post proved my point. I didn't make anything political. Just brought up the BS that you and those like you do.

BTW.....I don't wear a mask. I'm vaccinated. It was never anything politically driven for me. I had my doubts and fears about the vaccine. My BIL and his father are both MDs, and they are both Republicans. I have 5 cousins and 2 other family members who are RNs. I know nearly 2 dozen people from high school and college who are nurses who I'm friends with on social media. I find it interesting that not a single one of them do not endorse the vaccine. Natural selection is occurring right in front of all of us. I can't convince anyone of anything, but it's time for folks to stop being stubborn and void of logic and reason. Everyone I know who opposes all of this is politically driven. I'm glad I'm not stupid.

Oh stop. It's both. It's always been in sports. It started with Jackie Robinson and the '68 Olympics.

I have a friend who is an Army Ranger. He says that patriotism is defined by what you do for your fellow countrymen. I wish some of you would stop with the national anthem nonsense. You do nothing but prove my point.

Sorry shawnk, but you lost me. What point of yours did I prove? That Kaperdick wearing anti-police socks and *****ing about racial inequities when he was one of the highest paid QBs in the league was a grumpy old man’s fault?

I gotta agree. I believe the majority of the disdain for Thomas stems from the position he took on Drew Brees and his comments. However, I saw somebody attempting to play through a pretty serious injury last year that resulted in him needing surgery. I hope he plays with the Saints for a long time. If we have to move on from him hopefully we’re compensated handsomely.

Once again, wearing a mask is not to protect the wearer ... it is to protect others from the wearer. It is absolutely astounding that a few people do not understand this very simple concept. It truly calls into question the rest of their arguments. :D Keeping a mask on limits the possible shedding to the table, not the entire path to and from the table.

Cool. Have fun with that for the rest of your lives. Covid won't go away. Ever. I don't believe the masks are very effective and there's zero proof they are. I'll just live my life and breath oxygen. Besides, it's not fair to the world to cover my face. It's just to awesome. lol.

In the past month 209,057 new cases have been reported. 3,026 people have died from it. Most of them did not get their shot. You could be dead wrong. I hope not though.

For many, it's the accumulation of some immature mis-steps, not one particular moment...

But, you're forgetting he also basically took over from Marques Colston, who spoiled fans with his winning, work ethic, stoicism, and humbleness...

Just want to see Mike get on track, focused, break more records, help the team win...

Disagree. I think Drew's image was that of a team guy. Thomas' rep is the opposite. Personally I don't think that's true at all, but it is, I think, the perception.

What someone does with their perception is on them.
