Is this why he didn't get his surgery earlier ?

So we talked about the "Silent Storm" a former Saints player who had the most fitting nickname.
And now we have "Can't Guard Mike" which is another Saints player with a fitting nickname. (you can't guard a guy if he's not on the field)

I don't know why everybody is rolling on him. All that matters in context is that he gets along with Coach and performs when he's on the field. **** happens with injuries, and our team doesn't exactly have an exemplary record with it's players on the subject.

A few good games and everybody will forgive him or stop dwelling on the man's personal life.

I've lost interest in this Diva. If he comes back and plays that's fine. If he gets traded I'm fine with that too.

Truth, and sad. Social Dilemma is something he (and everyone else) should watch. He's not doing anything his peers aren't doing. Personally, I don't understand walking around looking in other people's windows (social media), even if they want me to. Especially if they want me to, cause that's weird. We can be sad for the world, but picking on one guy because he's on our team...

Meh. Let him be.

People aren't picking on one guy - they're commenting on a public figure's repeated issues and how he's responding to them.

Public figure....

He's a football player. The Saints chose to pay the man. He wasn't voted into his role on the football team by us. I could feel violated (potentially) if that were the case. In this case I do not. Just me. E'rybody carry on with ya'll bad selves....

If he gets traded I'd be pissed. He's one of the best WR's in the entire league, if not the best. It isn't like he killed someone.

People care when he’s not available to help his team...especially for the size of the contract he has. He should be a team leader. He is not acting like one. Off field extra-curricular activities that take away from a player’s focus, especially one who was already under the microscope because of how he/the team handled his injury, is relevant.

Yes, it would have been nice if he was available day one, but he isn't. He will be sooner than later so whatever will be, will be. As you know, the future's not ours to see ...

We don't vote for the majority of people in the public eye. However those who are "leaders" owe it to themselves and those who look up to them to be a model for what's right.

Funny how simultaneous to this, exists a thread on Marcus Colston who was more than "just a football player" to many. Including me. And you, who was one of two jerseys you've ever owned.

There are countless athletes alone who are more than just players....

I think he’s gonna ball out when he comes back. You’ll see him stretch the field as well. Everybody suffered from the inability of Brees to push it down field. I can’t wait to see how wide open this offense is going to look. Thomas is gonna wreck shop when he gets back.

To level set, I don't hold anything against MT13 for a peripheral lawsuit. After all, remember a few years ago there was a lawsuit between Drew and a jeweler or something during an off-season. Life happens.

Indeed. But that's their choice. Being just a player is okay too, and I know you agree I'm not arguing your point. I'm just not willing write off MT over, well anything. He may need counselling. If so I hope he gets it. When he calls my phone I might have some things to say. Until then I'm pulling for the guy on and off the field. If coach reached out and says things are cool then you know, that's one of the reasons coach is paid so well.

I know some fans take it personally. I do too sometimes. Who was that guy who got into trouble with the girl while with us, then got "hurt", then ended up in Washington where he flamed out in a blaze of glory? Can't remember his name. That dude was a douche nozzle. I'm not fixing to wrap MT up in the bag with that dude. LOL

Not that it matters... Is it good value to rent a facility for $60000 a month to refresh and recuperate an ailing ankle ? Was cell coverage not sufficient in this impressive abode ? Wifi sucked too? Besides what's in the article, what basis is there for such a lawsuit if the rental was $60000 a month? Begs to question what else happened that we don't know yet that motivated MT to file this.

As good as he is I hate it, but I completely agree with you. We have young wr who have stepped up and we are moving more to a running team. No way we pass as we did under drew. Get rid of this turd. Save money and get a substantial amount back before teams realize he is a cancer.

If you want your $60,000 deposit back and the owner refuses the best way to do it is sue for more. People seldom sue for near as much as they seriously hope to receive. I can easily see him settling for that.

And, yet, if he remains well liked by his teammates how is that a cancer? The fact that he has ruffled feathers of some fans means nothing. I'm looking forward to him and Callaway shredding opponents all season long. Thomas is apparently well ahead of schedule and can be back fairly soon.

Get the guy back on the field cuz we're gonna need him. Everything else will work out as the season progresses.
I can see MT and Jameis connecting with
a lot of deep receptions.

I'm down with this ^

And let me say, I'm pulling for Michael the same way I've advocated for Jameis's revival in New Orleans. I am a fan of redemption stories. I think Sean Payton is as well.

Besides, I can empathize, my own head wasn't screwed on right until my late thirties.

What you said should be his sole measuring stick - perform and it goes away, don't and it's all rolled into the reasons why he should go.

I 100% agree this offense is poised to be #1 in the NFL. Jameis has the arm. Elite O line. We have the weapons. No more safeties cheating up 2-3 yards. Kamara will dominate.

I'm pumped!

Re: Michael Thomas suing for $1 million

I am fully pulling for CGM to return to the field and lead the team to a second Lombardi. I don’t fault the guy for off the field legal issues that don’t involve criminal complaints.

I am disappointed as a fan that the guy who at one time was a great example
of a record setting, non-diva type WR has since had questions arise about his behavior. Be it with the way he responded to Brees to the way he fought with a teammate and had a team suspension to the way he chose to have his surgery at an inconvenient time for the team. These are not the actions of a team leader in my option. He earned and is being payed top WR dollars. I don’t think it’s too much to ask as a fan that the player that takes on this financial gain also take on a certain responsibility with that kind of contract. It’s the difference between being a Marcus Colston or being a Terrell Owens.

As a landlord and also from a former tenant perspective, there has to be a justification/proof for an amount to sue for. You can't just make up a number just because you think it's a strategy or whatever. You'll be laughed out of the courtroom. It's not like a defamation or some other similar suit. So there is something yet undisclosed to support an amount like that. It's more likely the media has yet to divulge additional details. Brees in his suit with the jeweler had common sense basis for his claim. We shall see with MT.
