It is admittedly a whole different buzz than I get when watching football. May not be for everybody, but just calling out there is great live competition going on that could tide you over until gameday Sunday. I may opt to record the Saints and watch it later if the US Open if the mens/womens final occurs at the same time on Sunday. It's been that good.
Wow! Definitely a matter of taste, I suppose. I get nothing out of tennis regardless of the stage. I'd rather watch the third round of a random women's golf tournament than the finals of Wimbledon or whatever. Did you used to play or something?

Play in a local tennis league and enjoy it. I'm not awesome of anything, but I love to play. More will than skill LOL. So yeah that is an influence, but even during years when I was overweight and wasn't playing I still loved watching.

Do your thang Neugey✌️. I watch as well. Always look forward to the French Open and Wimbledon. I’ve also tried playing but those Pros make it look easy.

But that’s super cool you still play

I was a big tennis fan back in the Connors/McEnroe/Borg days. Gripping TV IMO. The game lost a bit of appeal with the racket tech and the transfer to the big serve style. Big rallies are a thing of the past unfortunately.

I do remember watching when Evonne Goolagong played. I loved her exotic look.

Agree on the rallies not being as prominent. Your best bet is watching a women's match between two defensive players or Nadal against the right opponent.

Indeed. I do enjoy watching the women’s game for that very reason. I also forgot to mention Ivan Lendl. During the 80s watching him play was great!

Badminton is the only racket sport I played. I was invited to play on the NC State club team my freshman year, but I had a lab at the same time as all of their meets. I started working for the newspaper the following year and never had the opportunity again. I did play some tennis with friends in high school and with a cute volleyball player at State in a "challenge of the sexes" deal we had going on, but really never more than that.

LOL! I just went out to the garage and found my old Wilson T3000 racket hanging on the wall. It's got to be 45 years old and the strings are still intact. That was the racket I used in the mid 70's. Hell, it was the only racket I used.
