From the film it looks like the Panthers have improved. But then again so have we.

Visited a Carolina Panthers message board earlier ...
A somewhat delusional fan base that rarely talk X's and O's. All I read were personal attacks against Sean Payton & the fan base. About as much class as Atlanta. It's a divisional rival (anything can happen) but I hope we put up 40. |

I'm not sure what to think of the Panthers game yet. Didn't watch much of them last year. It depends on how well their OL and DL are playing.

Re: Saints @ Panthers Pregame Discussion
Mccaffrey is one of the best backs in the league. They have great talent at WR. Unlike the packers, their team worked together in the preseason practices and games. Saints are effectively in the middle of a three game road trip and still dealing with the hurricane. This is a game against an “inferior” team sandwiched between the Pats and Packers. Many reasons to worry about this game.

Every panties fan on YT and other places thinking just cause they beat the jets, they are gonna beat us. I told a guy yea y’all sacked Wilson six times but the jets have one of the worst line in the league and we are one of the best. Amongst other things. Not saying we'll curb stomp them but we’ll beat them. I’m not sold on Darnold one bit.

Re: Saints @ Panthers Pregame Discussion
This week’s spread has Saints a 3.5 favorite. I’ll say I had more faith in the Saints covering last week’s spread than I do them covering this week’s. I could be completely wrong, just my opinion.

Those that seem to know what they are talking about on the Panthers' forum are extremely concerned about their offensive line. I can easily see five sacks and a couple of forced picks.

Re: Saints @ Panthers Pregame Discussion
It without a doubt matters. Among my poker group it’s much more agreeable for all to be accurate about game predictions and avoid overselling your team. Don’t gotta swallow crow you don’t deserve.
And without a doubt some players pay attention to what fans and media say. Teams get overconfident all the time. |

Statistically, the Saints are one of the best teams against the spread as an underdog, not many in our league, but we're also one of the worst big favorites... That is to say, we've a bad franchise history of playing down to the talent like Jabronies... Don't want to be a jabronie, don't play down to the talent; steady consistent play, put it away by playing four quarters of solid, winning football... Anything else, we give back our home-field advantage... And don't tempt the football gods like the cheese heads did on Sunday or it's humble pie... |
Re: Saints @ Panthers Pregame Discussion
Looks like it’s still the C-Mac show. One dimensional. They got better with Darnold but their offensive line has had problems in the past when it comes to pass protection. He was hit like 9 times last week.

Rhule is light years beyond Gase as a coach. That's not saying that Rhule is a surefire genius, it is just that Gase was that bad. If Darnold is to become a solid QB there's a better chance of it now. |

In regards to my comment: Whether I pine away in fear of playing the Carolina Panthers or don't give them a second thought has zero effect on the outcome of the game. As universally famous and revered as Guido is, I seriously doubt how he feels about the Panthers is going to effect the scoreboard this weekend. Much like the delusions of grandeur by both Panther and Falcons fans over recent years has not helped them put a Ws in the win column against the Saints. Saints are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings with the Falcons, and 6-1 in the last 7 meetings with the Panthers. Also, TheDude's feelings alone would have caused both teams to sweep us... and we would have many 0-16 seasons. On your reply: As fans we certainly would love to feel like we impact the game with our insightful ramblings wouldn't we? With a combined 18 years of baseball and football I can tell you the morning following a game I grabbed the paper on my way to school or Saturday morning film review to see what was was written but after the paper was discarded there wasn't a second thought about what I read, focus immediately changed to the upcoming game preparation. Other than knowing my parents were in the stands I couldn't tell you anything else about the fans in the stands or what they were saying, my focus was on the game and actually drowning all that crap out. Games are played in front of fans for two reasons; ticket revenue, and because crowd noise helps the home team but there isn't a single word in that noise that is distinguishable much like the fake crowd noise used during 2020. If fans in the stadium screaming could change the outcome of a game the Browns would sell tickets for $2 and go 16-0. If crowd noise could change the out come of a game the Saints would not have had a better road record than home record in 2019... Going all the way back to Namath to cite a handful of examples does not a rule or trend make, those are anomaly's. One person on the Met's 40 man roster is not a trend or rule, its an anomaly. Our biggest direct impact on professional sports is on revenue, the game is changed to drive revenue. No one gave two sh1ts about the fans opinions or thoughts but the fans during bountygate. :bng: Your beliefs are yours and I am in no way trying to change them, I am just clarifying on my original comment. Please continue to change the outcome of games we need more Ws this year.:bng: |

Coaches coach, players play and fans watch. Weather cheering or *****ing fans only impact is on their personal state of mind.
