National media (at least some) idiots
Haven’t posted in a while, but wanted to jump on here to ask if anybody else saw Colin Cowherd’s top 10 teams after week 1?? Saints not even in his top 10. What an absolute joke. He had Denver, Cards and Chargers in there. We have probably the most dominant performance of the 1st week on both sides of the ball against the reigning MVP and a team most think will be there in the playoffs at the end and he doesn’t think the Saints are worthy of his top 10. I don’t know why I watch these shows sometimes 🤣

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Your sports media in the US is as bad as we have over here.
Half of the idiots you have on TV are like our radio idiots, they are not aired for proper discussion but to annoy people enough to get on social media or phone in. Its all about stupid OTT opinions to get a bite, they are best ignored |

Yea, I was really pissed at having Cleveland up there the most. They lost and not only that they blew a lead. Cowturd is a idiot of the highest degree and a Tom Brady nut rider |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
He's not an analyst. He's an anal cyst! What an ignorant dumb ass.

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
I watch The Herd and Colin has a affinity for large market media teams. He also has favorite QB’s we play one this weekend. He is not a reporter analyst he is a sports commentator and stirring the pot with a controversial slants to his view of sports world is his game plan. Talking heads … sh*t for brains mostly IMHO!
Joy is far less controversial … but good. The new by joy is straight forward and the Colin throws his $.02 and of the rails he goes at times. |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Cowheard is one of the worst out there. I remember listening to him on radio about a dozen years ago during a playoff series between the Cards and Dodgers. He said “You LA fans are here looking for confirmation of your team. Well, I’m here to give you information, not confirmation. Cardinals are gonna win”. I remember him saying this with such an arrogant, a$$hole attitude at the time. (Makes me imagine how some users on this site must sound like in real life). Of course, Dodgers swept 3-0. That MFer did nothing to address how bad is “information” was. If I could see ANY sports media person get their butt kicked it would be his.

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
I gave up on the MSM in 09. Week after week they kept making excuses on why we weren't that good. "hadn't played anyone with a winning record" till we did, "hadn't had to come from behind" till we did, over and over again all year all the way to the Super Bowl. I watch the shows but more to watch highlights and the occasional film breakdown than to expect any wisdom.

Just curious, not sure why though. |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Joy had better be wearing something absolutely fantastic if you want me to watch Colin's Top 10 (and notice I said 'watch' not 'listen').

Shannon Sharpe is my favorite. He cracks me up.

He’s not the only one though. Shannon used to be on the Saint bandwagon. He said he had to jump ship though . He’s lost too many cases of Dew to our disappointing finishes. Still my guy though. |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
I use to listen to Dan Patrick because his show was on TV when I would get ready in the mornings. His show stopped being carried by my local provider and PFT with Florio took the spot/channel. I listen to him and Simms (don’t like either) out of carry over habit from the DP show, but honestly can’t stand either one. occasionally I will turn on the NFL network in the AM for their
show (Goof morning football I think). Other than that, Rich Eisen is about the only guy I enjoy. |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
I did listen to a snippet of a Rich Eisen podcast and he gave the Saints props. Said it was the most impressive win from the weekend. So there are a few smart ones in the national media 😀

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
I wouldn’t call leaving us out of the top 10 much of a stretch honestly. It was one game and there are still a ton of question marks in regards to our receivers and CB’s. Harris is situational, Calloway is an unknown, and both have been injured in limited use. Outside of Lattimore we have a rookie who had one good game, an injury prone has been, and Roby who’s positive but depth is a concern. There’s no way Green Bay is as bad as they looked Sunday night. Unless you are very familiar with our team like most of us are I can see where we look pretty dismal from the outside looking in. I prefer to be the underdog and I think the team does too.
I believe in Winston but I would like to see him in a situation where we are down two scores and he has to shoulder the load. We won’t have the luxury of being three scores ahead very often. I would love to see Winston bring us back when we are down. |

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Pete Prisco, who has always been a bit of a Saints hater, has the Saints at #6 in his weekly power rankings. That doesn't sound too dismal.
6 SAINTS They had the most impressive victory of the weekend in blowing out the Packers. The defense was truly impressive in limiting Aaron Rodgers. |

It's best to fly under the radar as long as we can and stay humble. Remember the Coach's grounding pranks he used to pull.

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Look at the Milwaukee Bucks. They won the championship but now it seems like no one is paying attention to them and everyone is focused on the Nets, Lakers, Sixers and Warriors.
I'd rather be the Bucks than the Nets. Let the other teams be the popular ones, the media darlings, we'll just worry about being the world champs. |

Look at the Bucs They got hot and did what they needed to do but everything fell for them last year. Hill,Kwon and Murray all being out, Brees and Thomas compromised and brick hands Cook. The whole offensive line with the Chiefs |
Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Herd is from the "WET" side or West side of Washington State as we say locally, or "occupied territory" whatever floats your boat. As many host do, he gets his chubby by stirring the pot, raising controversy. just for ratings. He stopped being relevant years ago......

Re: National media (at least some) idiots
Tell me why we give a monkey turd about someone's power ranking? Are we really that bored/intellectually challenged?
