Fire on Superdome Roof

1 Attachment(s)
I caught a live feed on the roof of the Dome where a crew was pressure washing. It was where they covered the Mercedes sign area and are preparing to put the Caesars logo. It looks like they put it out in about ten minutes after going live.

Fire breaks out at Caesars Superdome

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An intense fire sent flames and heavy black smoke billowing out of the Caesars Superdome roof Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m.

The New Orleans Fire Department was responding to the scene, but had no immediate details to provide.

While the cause of the fire was not immediately known, several workers could be seen atop the stadium’s iconic white roof. Cleaning and renovations to the roof after its recent corporate re-branding is believed to have recently resumed after being interrupted by Hurricane Ida.

Flames and dark black smoke could be seen along the lip of the roof, appearing to be emerging from a fire inside the stadium’s upper level. The smoke was visible across New Orleans and turned to a lighter shade of gray around 12:50 p.m.

I saw it. They were cleaning where the Caesar’s logo is going to be and something caught fire. It’s fine.

Yeah. It looks like it was the temporary surface they put on ignited somehow.

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof

They said the fire got out of control because the Superdome called 911 and the operator was a former NFL referee so they kept missing the call.

The LSED and ASM Global issued the following statement about the recent fire at the Caesars Superdome on September 21, 2021:

This afternoon a fire occurred on the exterior of the Caesars Superdome in the gutter tub of the roof. NOFD and venue first responders were dispatched immediately and extinguished the fire. Upon further investigation it appears that a pressure washer being used to clean the roof caught fire. Damage is still being assessed.

Unreliable sources report that a worker spilled some hot sauce up on the roof while fixing his sandwich. You don't disrespect hot sauce...

Now that Caesar is in the house we may have a new set of problems.

One of the workers had burns to the arms, upper torso, and face. He was transported to the hospital.

They characterized it as "minor" burns, but any burn hurts like hell.

Indeed. Burnt myself badly once while doing refinery work. Ironically it happened when I was using a pressure washer. Lost control of the nozzle and it got my leg.

I pulled a small pot with oil off the burner when it started smoking and it sloshed over my hand. Only my second time ever with extended physical therapy. The first was after taking both barrels of a 20-guage shotgun in the lower leg from two inches away when I was 16. That was way, way less painful than the burn. Not even close.

Mayor Latoya was just burning some trash piling up around the city on top of the dome. Nothing to see here.

I didn't know that we brought in a voodoo priestess to stop the curse on the Dome. Personally, I thought that Katrina washed away the sins of the city.

We have always been looked on by the spirit of Marie Leveau it took her a while to figure out who these modern day Saints were. We almost scared her off back in the 80's with the paper bags and the chubby guy with the umbrella dancing around conjuring up a some sort of spell of his own.
But as all good Spirits do she came back, she took a fancy for Drew, seemed she was impressed by his chants. Problem now is Drew's gone from here on Sundays. An unreliable source has seen her on Bourbon Street watching NBC
Sports through a store window.

So who do you think helped Will Smith shove Peyton Manning during Tracy Porters Interception. Look closely...

Maybe Peat was walking on the roof smoking a cigarette and Gayle brushed past him and he lost his footing.

Rugby Saint II 09-23-2021 12:38 PM

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof

My first impression of Peat at training camp his rookie year was "He's built just like the Pillsbury dough boy." He still looks like it even after years in an NFL weight room working with trainers.

He's just soft!

I saw a picture of the Caesars Dome and it looked real nice! Screw Mercedes. I'm an Audi fan anyway.
