I caught a live feed on the roof of the Dome where a crew was pressure washing. It was where they covered the Mercedes sign area and are preparing to put the Caesars logo. It looks like they put it out in about ten minutes after going live.

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof
Fire breaks out at Caesars Superdome
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An intense fire sent flames and heavy black smoke billowing out of the Caesars Superdome roof Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m. The New Orleans Fire Department was responding to the scene, but had no immediate details to provide. While the cause of the fire was not immediately known, several workers could be seen atop the stadium’s iconic white roof. Cleaning and renovations to the roof after its recent corporate re-branding is believed to have recently resumed after being interrupted by Hurricane Ida. Flames and dark black smoke could be seen along the lip of the roof, appearing to be emerging from a fire inside the stadium’s upper level. The smoke was visible across New Orleans and turned to a lighter shade of gray around 12:50 p.m. |

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof
I saw it. They were cleaning where the Caesar’s logo is going to be and something caught fire. It’s fine.

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof
They said the fire got out of control because the Superdome called 911 and the operator was a former NFL referee so they kept missing the call. | |

Re: Fire on Superdome Roof
The LSED and ASM Global issued the following statement about the recent fire at the Caesars Superdome on September 21, 2021:
This afternoon a fire occurred on the exterior of the Caesars Superdome in the gutter tub of the roof. NOFD and venue first responders were dispatched immediately and extinguished the fire. Upon further investigation it appears that a pressure washer being used to clean the roof caught fire. Damage is still being assessed. |
