Re: Saints Trade for RB Mark Ingram

There are quite a few things Mark brings to this offense. I mentioned swagger earlier. This team looks like their playing too tight. Seems like no one is having fun on the offensive side of the ball.

He brings leadership. The defense has leadership all across the board but offensive guys need someone on that side of the ball to lean on. Ain’t nobody believing in that college rah rah stuff Jameis is putting out there. As much as I dislike TreQuan as a player, Jameis was way out of line. That would never happen under Drew’s watch. And one could say if that exchange between the two kinda maybe will lead to his guys not believing and trusting in him.

Mark brings back that one/two punch we haven’t had since he departed.
I just hope this doesn’t spell doom for Ozigbo.

Don't agree here at all.
He needed digging out after just giving up on that play, he would likely have walked a score in if he didn't quit his route. Payton and the other staff looked fine with it happening. Jamies needs to put his stamp on the offense if he is going to be the long term QB and if Smith can't deal with being chewed out he needs to go.

Regarding the Jameis Winston and Trequan spat, Drew has definitely done that on more than one occasion.

The one that immediately comes to mind is 2008, when Jeremy Shockey whiffed a block and then dropped a pass. Drew went Nuts.

Not disagreeing that it wasn’t needed. But could you see Drew doing that. Yeah, we’ve seen Peyton dig into Jeff Saturday and Brady get on a couple of his guys.
What I saw Monday was some Jay Cutler type of behavior.
Wanna bet Sean didn’t have a discussion with Jameis about it.

Right. I remember Drew lighting Jeremy Shockey up on the sideline and that’s when I realized he was a dog. Didn’t have any issues out of Shockey after that. Winston is trying to win.

It actually did happen on Drew's watch in a lesser way with Jared Cook. I've been giving Trequan the benefit of the doubt the last few years but his head clearly wasn't in the game and I have no problem with Winston giving him the business. Sean obviously didn't either. I'm glad for the extra leadership MI brings but I think our problem at WR is lack of experience and possibly lack of talent over 'having fun'.

We going WAY back now.
Why embarrass a player like Trequan on national tv when most of us don’t even want him on the roster.

Welcome back Ingram!

Considering the sad state of the Texans, this feels less like a trade and more like breaking our homeboy out of prison.

Winston establishing it won’t be any bull**** on this team just like Brees did early on when he got here. Tre’Quan deserved to be embarrassed. He should be giving the most effort after all that time Winston spent working with him in the off-season.
