Lol I'd like to think Payton saw how done Newton was following that SB loss. He's never been the same player since.

Re: Trevor Siemian

I just don't get the sudden love for Siemian. He did what he is paid to do - be a backup. He has never been more than a serviceable backup. He has only started one game (2019 - 3 for 6 for 3 total yards) since 2017 when he lost his one and only job as a starter while throwing more interceptions (14) than TD's (12).

He was bailed out by the Bucs penalty on an awful pick in the end zone. While I agree that Hill's greatest value comes as that "jack of all trades" player, he remains a far better option at QB than Siemian. I have been listening off and one to NFL radio all day and I have heard nobody say that Siemian should be the starting option. Why? Because they know what Siemian is and isn't. Hell, I bet most of you getting their rocks off on him had no clue who he was before he made our roster.

That's ad hominem and you know it.
Nobody "loves" Siemian. We all love Hill, though.

Great job learning your football from the radio. You've got a better understanding of the game than me.

And where do you supposedly learn your football? I've followed the pro game for years and found NFL Radio a few years back. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from a station that is dedicated 24 hours a day to the game and doesn't answer to the league itself. Unlike the NFL channel on TV it is not owned by the league and commonly gives unbiased input on the game. I may or may not have a better understanding of the game than you, but I make a concerted effort to keep learning as much as I can.

Not sure anyone really loves Semian as an option……not sure where you got that, maybe as a choice over Hill…..but that’s a topic for discussion, who gives us a better chance at winning. He is not the answer, period….but to many including myself he’s better than Hill. And as far as getting someone’s rocks off, your an idiot…..

He's just mad that people still have hope that Siemian might be serviceable. He actually probably hopes that Hill gets in and completely gets destroyed so he can tell everyone "I told you Winston was better."

Btw, he also knows WAY more about everything than you. I thought I knew who Trevor was and remember him playing for the Broncos. But alas, I must've been wrong because he said no one had even heard of the guy before he was a Saint. Only Guido knew who he was. Lol.

You base his giving us a better chance than Hill based upon what? One appearance with more than SIX pass attempts since 2017?

Please.

Not based on what Semian has done….but having watched what Hill HAS not done. Still rather take my chances……and keep Hill where he is.

I just got done watching the NFL Network this evening and several of their pundits (Willie McGinest, David Carr and Steve Mariucci) were all in agreement that Trevor is SP's best option as a new starting QB and that Taysom should return in the same 'situational QB' role he's been playing until now!

Perhaps there are some differing opines being floated now that the news has sunk in? Regardless, SP is the QB Whisperer and the final judge on who can/ will run the offense best. I just hope our team stays competitive enough to make some noise without Jameis!
