Devin White fined for tackle that injured Jameis Winston

Buccaneers linebacker Devin White was penalized for a horse collar tackle on the play that ended Saints quarterback Jameis Winston‘s season last Sunday and he heard from the league about the play as well.

The NFL said that White was fined for the tackle on Winston, who then left the game with a torn ACL. It was not the only conduct of White’s that earned a rebuke from the league this week.

I re watched that game in its entirety. Devin was no doubt dirty. Shots after the whistle to Ingram, Trevor and of course the tackle on Winston.

He’s become a bush league player and I’ve lost respect for him.

Too bad a suspension wasn’t enforced.

Don't buy Devin is dirty like some of his Buccaneer counterparts (i.e. Suh), believe he was just being competitive and he wanted to get Jameis down...

That said, he absolutely deserved to be fined, even penalized a game suspension (additionally a game-check); that will clear up many bush league moves...

Buccaneers linebacker Devin White spoke with Saints quarterback Jameis Winston following the incident in which Devin White tackled the quarterback resulting in injury and being penalized for a horsecollar tackle. Following the loss to the Saints, Devin White revealed to the media what the conversation entailed and explained that outside of football that the two are close friends.

“I went up, tapped him on the head, and said, ‘I hate that this happened to you, man. Because you’re playing good ball and just praying for you. Because, man, Jameis is a good guy. He’s a great guy. I’m gonna put an emphasis on that. All last year when they was playing, and we was playing, he was texting; I don’t know if he was texting everybody, but me, and him was close.”

White continued to talk about how Jameis Winston had shown him around when he arrived in Tampa in 2019 and how they kept in touch even when his team’s former quarterback had gone elsewhere

“When I came in, he kinda showed me around – and just telling me how proud he was of me. Even when we won a Super Bowl, he was one of the first texts, like, ‘Congratulations, man. I wish I could be a part of that, but y’all deserve it. You put a lot of work in, and we always talked about how special you all could be.’ He’s a great guy. You hate to see that happen. I hope it’s not serious, man. I’m just praying for him. But it’s a long season; hope he can come back and fight with his team.”

I was telling everyone around me that it’s obvious they are being coached to do that. On just about every play a Tampa player would shove the Qb after the whistle. If we pulled that **** on Brady you better believe suspensions would be handed down to both coaches and players by Monday morning. Tampa is now my most hated team.

Never thought I would see the day but Tampa is slowly nudging the Dirty Birds out as the most hated of our Division neighbors.

Over the past TWO seasons, Tampa has become the most penalized team in the NFL. They could care less about player safety.

Remember Devin knocked Deonte out of the playoffs too.

There was definite intent. He had 3 personal fouls and it could have been at least 5. White is trash.

Why did it take almost a week to make that decision?
Must of had to wait for replay official
