Trautman is the worst TE in the NFL this season. Not the worst starting TE, not the worst TE on an active roster, the worst TE to suit up even in training camp. If we cut Trautman and added Tim Tebow, it would be a clear obvious net gain. Tebow gives us the same receiving, hands, and blocking ability as Trautman, would probably commit less penalties, and could back up Taysom for gadget QB plays. How Tim Tebow is unsigned while Trautman is occupying space on an active roster is an absolute injustice. Yes, he never played TE and he has been out of the NFL for about a decade, but he could just watch videos of Trautman to see how not to play TE, and catch up very quick.
I think our optimal lineup might look something like this. WR1 Alvin Kamara WR2 Juwan Johnson TE Garrett Griffin RB Mark Ingram |
