I thought CuJo was the Wide Receiver whisperer. His legacy is being tarnished each week with these guys dropping so many passes.

10 - 75 yards in penalties.

That’s bad football.

Outside of Deonte, we have nothing at WR. Why was Juwan a healthy scratch today ? Based on what I’ve seen from Tratuman, he’s not ready & Nick Vannett needs to get healthy and start contributing.

Maybe we need to upgrade our Saintsations - or whatever they are called now.

So here it is "Life After Brees"
Let's not kid ourselves we all had that gut feeling of how things might go.
Maybe just a few setbacks...ya think

-Jameis was well on his way to get the Offense in synch and now we lose him for the season.
-Taysom gets knocked out in the WFT game and is slow to get back.
-Trevor was our 3rd string backup who is now elevated to our starting QB.
Thats quite a journey for the Journeyman that last saw regular action in 2017.
(in reality the Dudes okay I'm thinking maybe our WR's aren't sure whos throwing them the ball)
-Our high flying "can't guard Mike" lives up to his name I guess it makes sense no one guard the guy if he's not on the field.
But U can still buy a shirt.. cantguardmike.com could be a collectors item
-One of the best Kickers in the league Will Lutz out for the season.
-Not to mention countless injuries, a suspension and the door keeps revolving.

But all is not lost some sunshine thru the clouds..
-We beat Tom Terrific & Arrogant Aaron & Jake from State Farm
-Ingram is back..
-We did reach out to Teddy but Vic (Dome Patrol) Fangio is no Fool.
-OBJ used to live here and maybe he'll come back and visit.
-Brian Johnson even though he might not be a Jake Verity.
-The Gillikins Island kid turns out to be a young version of Morstead.
-Deonte Harris is back.
-Demario Davis the gift from the Jets that keeps on giving.
-Rob Ryan works in Baltimore not New Orleans..

So you see we have a lot to be thankful for...

Saints catch the football we’re 7-1.

There’s no mystery here.

No more putting off WR in the draft.

All of that has to do with whether a thrown ball is catchable, not whether a receiver can catch a catchable ball.

If anything, a receiver being new weighs in a lot heavier on a QB than the receiver, you have it backwards.

After watching this game I admit I was completely wrong. We do indeed need OBJ. And anyone else that can catch

Love that line. One of the best lines from a great movie.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns

From what I've seen, I think Trevor did a good job

He was hindered by honestly the worst group of Receivers I've seen on this team and when Armstead got beat for the sack fumble.
If the D didn't fold like an omelette, like they are prone to do when it's late in the game and it the Receivers could actually catch, he'd be 1-0 as a starter.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns

Oh yeah and cut Trautman, he's a waste of a roster spot.

Kinda felt we were in trouble (WR position) when we were signed the Lacrosse player to the roster.

Yes, only on special teams.

No contributions at WR :(.

Some of the drops that happened were not blatantly bad - these were not butt naked wide open drops. Defender was quite close on a lot of them and the defensive contact played a factor. The real culprit is not the hands, it's the route running. Only Harris and the RB's seem to have much of it, as of late.

I just finished watching the game after reading the game day thread. It actually helped me understand the game as it developed rather than relying on some stupid commentators like Aikman and Buck.

Siemian passed the eye test again. The receivers failed theirs again.

Kevin White was activated using the Covid-19 option (his two previous call-ups were using the PS rule); he had no targets on the day...

His positioning should have been on the outside shoulder of the receiver to push the WR off his route and into the net of zone coverage inside...

But you're right, he did an outstanding job of recovering from that detailed mistake and his trip...

It sucks, but I'll live with it and he'll be better and likely won't make that mistake come a more important game like in the tournament...

Deonte' is the smallest guy on the field, yet he's putting in work.

AK & Ingram are catching as many passes as our "regular" WRs.

Deflating.

Smallest, yet hardest to cover. He's dancing Salsa while the rest of our receivers are hugged up against defenders like it's couples dance.

Don't ask me where that analogy came from....

Maybe Brees knew how bad the receiving Corp was and thats why he just checked down to Kamara every play.

Nawh... He made average WRs into above average with his decisions and quick release and catchable ball, even if he had a noodle arm at the end of his career.

Right. Brees spoiled us. Made it look easier than it actually was.

I don’t understand why some people seem so surprised that our offense is struggling. Did anyone honestly think we could lose a HOF QB and still keep consistently winning without missing a beat? Nobody seemed to think the players we lost due to the salary cap issues would make a difference either. I’m not really talking about members here but it seems like most people are shocked by where we are right now. It’s the price you pay for having 16 years of success.
It’s obvious Payton has been slowly making a transition to a team with a run first offense and stout defense. His mistake was putting all his eggs in the Michael Thomas basket when it comes to the passing game.

Lost a fumble on a sack, right?
