Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
2 points madness cost the game... Or at least overtime.
Halo jinxed us. |

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Either one of those 2 point conversions would have forced Atlanta to score a touchdown.
That being said great comeback almost pulled it off. Good thing for Matty's Wife though, if he choked again she would have had to visit him in a sanitarium. |

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
This defense is not good. They keep trying to convince themselves they are because Brady threw it right to PJ, but they aren't good.
Adebo got caught staring back at the QB and it proved costly. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
That’s just good ol’ fashioned 2021 Saints football. It’s going to be a roller coaster until the very end.

If you had more capable WRs/TEs, maybe we aren't in this situation. |

I counted no less than 3 40+ yard plays by the Falcons today, not to mention 64 yard gain on the very first play of the final drive to set up the winning FG. I get that other areas are bad, like receiver, but this D got torched by the Falcons, Panthers and Giants. They also got torched by the bucs, but got lucky when Brady made a bad mistake. |

We had leads on both Giants and Atl. Two teams struggling on O. They both drove it down our throats. Nothing is really “good” about this team.

Falcons recovered our fumble, we couldn't recover theirs. One of those 50/50 games, and there was a ton of things we could've done better. Penalties seem to doom us.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
We have the worst WR core in football but let's focus on the defense. The first 30 minutes of the game was flat-out embarrassing at wideout. We are running AK into the ground. He has to do too much, every single week. The offense is good at dropping balls, killing possessions.
Not sure why Dennis has Adebo on a vet in that late situation. This isn't the first time either ... coaching blunder. The strength of the Saints is the defense and special teams. We got outplayed today. Look around the league today (Raiders, Denver, Bills, Browns) if you don't bring your A-game, you'll get beat. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Go get OBJ. If we don’t even try we are essentially punting on the season because we aren’t making a run with this group.
Trevor Siemian showed me enough to earn another start. We have to make that WR upgrade though. |

8 dropped passes today. By NFL standards, terrible. Dreadful.
Penalties killed drives too. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
8. That is unreal.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
This team has really struggled to play as one for years.
Receivers dropped passes, which meant the D was out there too long and conceded. D stepped up eventually, Receivers started making plays, D then blew the game. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Nothing ruins my day more than when we lose to the Falcons - Nothing.

Hurts a little more. As for me I have tempered my expectations. Something isn't right with this team. |

I think that this is where we pivot from high expectations to becoming a support group.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Is it really a shocker that what was our 3rd string QB just a minute ago doesn't have total sync with our WR's and TE's and vice versa? Is it also shocking that a top 5-ish QB held down for 99% of the 4th quarter can still make a play late? We've had the Falcon's number for a while now. It's a 8.5/8.5 league and today we ended up on the wrong side of it. I'm proud of our guys sticking with it, and having a realistic chance to win after a bad game with nit picking refs. Kudos again to our punter BTW.

Receiver corps really blew this game.

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Passing game looked a hell of a lot like it did in Winstons first couple of games with all the drops. I have to believe that part will get corrected. If we had a true number one Wr and a TE our defense, special teams, and running game are all good enough to compete with anyone. It was a division game, **** happens.

Their job is to catch the ball. I could understand if it was timing or something. But everything I heard was they just failed to execute "catching the ball." And no, I still don't want that dumbass OBJ. Lol. Just my opinion of course. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
Washing both Saints jerseys tonight after the Falcons W. Easiest decision of the weekend.

I guess if they were used to a soft pass then you throw it to them with mustard every time. But....I don't think that's the issue. Lol.
You may be right but imo there is no excuse for 8 dropped passes. Good hell. That's bs. |

Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
I didn't get to see the second half, but from what I saw in the first half Siemian didn't look bad. Too many drops. Is that how the second half played out?
Also, I think of Trautman as the anti-Jimmy Graham. Trautman can block, but not catch. |
Re: Observations from Saints Loss to the FailClowns
This loss will come back to hurt us. We had a chance to bridge the gap and catch up to Dallas, GB, and TB.
But it’s just the Saints being the Saints…we have to take the hard road….smh |
