When Payton is your coach, of course clock management is terrible, Payton has been awful at it for 15 years.

Taking two sacks has absolutely zero to do with Sean Payton or anyone else. That’s all on him.

I think it has a lot to do with Cesar Ruiz, considering he got beat for both in the first 10 minutes of the 1st quarter.

^ This. Unless you maybe stick with a run call so you don’t allow the sack to happen.

Which would actually be on Sean Payton for poor clock management. With less than a minute on the clock, no timeouts, and over half the field to cover... the second to last thing you do is run and the last thing you do is take a sack.

That's far too logical, Oak.

Agreed.

You simply can’t take 2 sacks like that to end the half. That was terrible. In crucial moments, he’s not reading the defense/stunts well enough.

I guess he’s a “back up” for a reason.

Exactly! On all points. That was the same type of decision making he displayed when he had his chance with the Broncos. He can come in and spell a starter, but he cannot be depended upon to win you a game. He can, however, help you lose one.

Yes. But at what position group are we NOT playing backups at? QB, check. RB, check. WR, check. You see where I’m going with this Good kicking or better blocking or decent catching or not flinching on an extra point try or not getting screwed by the refs would have gotten a W.
