New Orleans Saints waived kicker Brian Johnson and re-signed kicker Brett Maher to the active roster Friday.

It's too bad. Johnson was fine on FGs. Just terrible at XPs.

Fun fact - Maher's dad is director of South Dakota public universities (he's currently in charge of my kids' secondary education)

Outside of the QB position, "kicker" has had a profound impact on the 2021 season.

Make a few more PATs, Saints could easily have 2 more W's.

Bad laces, shanked left, foot hitting the turf whatever. NFL is a production-driven business. Miss PATs, good chance you lose your job.

Good luck to Brian, he's got youth on his side.
