I got big questions with this 0 line with little to nothing protection and no run game to boot. Any qb will have a hard time until they both get fixed. Trial by fire, good or bad.

The Bills were loading the box against the run because Siemian was no threat with the pass or his scrambling.

Don't matter what they did, this O line got it's a$$ handed to it in the trenches no run game, and wr's that did little to nothing against their db's. We were overmatched. If the O could have in the least showed up, we could have had a run game with play action, kind of beat them up in the box, we couldn't even do that.

Yep.

O line play was low energy. Tony Jones Jr had no shot.

No kidding. We're playing with backups on the o-line and a 3rd string QB. They should get their asses handed to them. What else do you expect?

The D to step up. Everyone already knows our O isn't running. That's no secret.

The defense can only do so much. Just saying they need do more doesn't make it happen. I feel the defense IS stepping up, but they can't win a game with zero offense. This is all on the offense and the offense is playing with most of their starters missing. Once again, it all comes down to injuries. No amount of heart can overcome massive injuries.

As far as Ian Book goes ... I think it will depend on how much fight this team shows over the next two games before CSP decides to see what he has from the rookie.

99.9 % of us on the forum can agree Trevor ain't it.

He is a fourth round pick who needs seasoning before throwing NFL defenses against him. He doesn't need trial by fire. That may work for first round draft picks. I'm guessing that Brady didn't get the start until there were no other options and even then probably not in his first year.

I'm starting to accept the fact that we are out of contention.

If we show little to nothing on next Thursday vs Cows, I'd be all for inserting Ian. The last thing we need to do is go into 2022 with more question marks & possibly another season looking for a QB. We kinda know what we have in Taysom & Winston. I'd like to see if Mr. Notre Dame has a platform to build on. If not, draft another one.

Up my way, I remember Dallas deciding to start Dak as a rookie & now he's a franchise QB. What does Dak and Ian have in common?

Both are former 4th rounders :bng:...

At this point, I'm not understanding why CSP and Carmichael are holding Ian back unless they see him as a career clipboard holder.

This is the absolute upside of 90% of QB's coming out of college into the NFL. Holding a clipboard is a pretty good living if you can hang in there.

Watching Book's ND film vs Bama, as well as his PreSeason Saints work, I've not seen anything yet that'd lead me to believe he's anywhere near an NFL QB...

I can’t believe this post didn’t elevate you to B&G stardom. Epic. Kudos to you sir.

Well, Taysom Hill needs to get it together and start on Thursday vs Dallas.

No way he got that new contract to "sit" the rest of the season.

It's time to bump the thread again. I am not trying to selectively pile on Hill's 4 interceptions - a few of those were great plays by the Cowboys you just have to tip your hat to. And there were a few throws by Taysom that showed skill and promise - the screen pass to Vannett standing out in my mind.

I don't know what's going to happen now, but I just don't want to see Siemian again. And we didn't draft Book to stare at a Surface tablet. I stand by my instincts - I believe Book is a gamer and can/will thrive under Payton and very well could be our QB of the future, or at the least an above average NFL backup. If wrong I will eat the crow.

Book is only 23 years old. Give him a bit more time before we kill him. He's got a bit money from playing in the NFL, let him enjoy it for a bit, he doesn't need to die now.

He's already said he's playing through it. The time is later (ie. way later), if ever.

In Denver it seem's both Vic Fangio & Teddy Bridgewater may be tossed out the door.
Depending what shape Jameis is in on his return it might be good to look at Teddy in the off-season.

Why do I have a feeling now that you posted this the Broncos will play like gangbusters tonight vs the Chiefs and save those jobs? Keep in mind the Broncos do have a winning record as it stands.
