Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting
While I agree with your thoughts on the need to nail pick 1 Major, I don’t think it’s very position specific. First round WR picks like Kevin White and Cooks haven’t lived up to their draft positions while guys like Cooper Kupp and Colston have done well coming in later rounds. Matches up pretty well with the Armstead/Ruiz/Peat comparisons I say. So, WR or OL isn’t as important as getting it right like you say.

If the plan is to move Thomas next season, fine, then yeah, I can see taking a WRx in the first round... The talent across our offensive line has dropped off dramatically the past five years, especially after losing Unger, and winning starts up front with elite talent... Maybe with Sean's departure, Dennis Allen will give Ireland greater influence and trust him to not reach on an offensive lineman as they did on Ruiz... This year's draft has franchise tackles that will be there through the first round as much as wide receivers... Also, with as much money as committed to Kamara, we've got to be able to impose our will up front and force open running lanes for him to do damage... A young stud to pair with Ramczyk, at LT or RT, would open the field up and bring back our legitimate play-action pass... At the end of the day, you take the best player available that falls to you, even if it's a DT3, or if I dare say it, a QB1... Really hoping Trevor Penning or Bernhard Raimann is there and we take one of them, or we get Daniel Faalele on Day 2, move Ramczyk to LT... But if it's Ole Miss QB Matt Corrall or Florida CB Kaiir Elam, then it is what it is... We definitely need a FA WRz, paired with a young rookie, to put opposite Mike Thomas, that's why I wouldn't mind waiting to R2 in a draft that is deep at WR... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
