this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Sean Payton was a practice squad third string type QB. He loves them all. He has a long history of taking middle to late round QBs to develop. None ever amounted to anything. Book seems like a longshot....

Re: Sean Payton feels ‘strongly’ about Ian Book
It's what I've been saying, for every successful mid to late QB pick (ie. Dak Prescott) there are 100 that might have a chance at getting a backup gig at the very most. Most don't even make it off the practice squad or even make a team at all.

True but Dak was supposed to be a late 1st/early 2nd before his DWI.
