At this point, one might consider that there have been too many injuries to salvage a season. The deep cap hole for next year makes free agency acquisitions a futile dream. Retrench. Work on technique. Develop off brand talent. Plan for 2024.

What deep cap hole? There is going to be another huge jump in the cap this year. There are several players with contracts that can easily be reworked via extension to free up quite a bit more space. There's speculation that the 2024 cap can be well over $250 million based upon the new broadcast and wagering contracts.

I don't recall if we had cap drama when Sean took over, but I recall he had a 5 year plan that had us in the playoffs in 3.

It's time to take our lumps and build this thing again.

How do you build when you already have a very good roster from top to bottom? Health and QB are the only two issues keeping us from a Super Bowl run as I see it. I can see addressing WR and TE, but I don't see where we need to tear anything down and rebuild.

What do you have in mind?
