The most talented quarterback in New Orleans was sitting in the booth talking about a guy running his offense, the one he helped shape and executed to perfection, in a way it was never intended to get run.

Thursday night was used to celebrate Drew Brees and give him the sendoff he never got from the Superdome crowd last year during the bizarro Covid season. He got his moment. The love and appreciation were evident. But behind those cheers was a sense of desperation because Brees’ presence came on a night when the Saints were in the midst of their most hapless performance during the Sean Payton era.

This Thursday will be his shot to take the reins. If not we know we need another QB this offseason unless we re-sign Winston.

Having Taysom start on Thursday gives us a small glimmer of hope. No guarantees we'll win, but he'll provide a spark. This is the correct move. Without any proven playmakers on offense, a game manager makes little sense.

I know Quinn will have a spy (maybe Vanderesh) on him & avoid Hill breaking the pocket. If TH sees a WR break free from #30 of Dallas, throw it up. There is a good chance it's a completion or a penalty. Go after a weak link in their secondary.

Taysom WILL make plays. Hopefully, others will climb on board and give all they got.
