Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

A lot of people seem to believe Tua is a mobile QB but I see it differently. He's more of a pocket passer than anything.

"If" he starts to run, that's when things break down and he makes poor decisions. Saints are relatively "healthy" on the defensive side & could really get after their QB.

I'm intrigued by the matchup.

Re: Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

Man up. Move Tua off his spot and rhythm. Hit him. 3 picks. Game over.

Wow, just watched Taysom with Media post-practice; Hill disclosed that he'd not had any live offense vs defense snaps in practice prior to Cowboys matchup...

Ian Book is making his NFL debut, lord help us...

This could be the worst Monday Night Football of all time lol. Payton isn’t going to dial up a single passing play with Ian Book starting.

And I'm going to be there. He can't be worse than Siemian and far more mobile. Or as inaccurate as Taysom with the bum finger.

If the Saints lose to Miami then win 2, the only way to make the playoffs is for the 49ers to lose twice.

Hadn’t seen it posted anywhere but notable names that will miss Monday …

Jayln Holmes, Kaden Ellis and Malcolm Jenkins.

Oh it can be way worse. We’re already down to one TE and here’s our OT situation with Armstead and Ramczyk still not practicing and Jordan Mills on the Covid list:

Not to mention, they’re preparing currently without Sean Payton.

One more game left on Harris' suspension, if I'm counting right. Dang I wish he was back, we need him on the crossers and in the flats to make some plays for us.

We'll only win by 13 then.

The 49ers lost tonight falling to 8-7. With a win on Monday we are at worst in a tie for the #6 seed.

Four Quarterbacks. No Thomas or Lutz. Kamara missing multiple games. First round pick a no show. Backup guard all year. Second, third, and now 4th string Tackles starting multiple games. Onyemata being suspended. Harris being suspended. All in the age of Covid. Still with a realistic shot at the playoffs. Payton and Loomis did an amazing job this year regardless of the final outcome.

We won last week against the GOAT and the QB did not score a TD. Anyone believe TH is the QB of the future … opinion … I don’t. So CSP has kept Book stashed all season on inactive roster to keep other teams from poaching … Very Interesting. Guess we will find out Monday night and could begin to bring some focus to next summers QB battle.

Could Book be a real surprise? Let’s go Brandon!

Cruize 12-24-2021 09:40 AM

Re: Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

It's all about reading and reacting for a QB. Book played multiple and big games in college. He has sat for basically a year in the NFL. I don't the game is too big for him. He doesn't have an elite arm. Payton will put him in good spots. But, he's going to have to do his part to win Monday night.

AsylumGuido 12-24-2021 09:46 AM

Re: Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

I can say that Hill missed several easy passes that Book may be able to make to continue drives. While we can't know what Book's future might be, Payton will put him in a position to win Monday via the game plan. Carmichael should be able to do the same with the playcalling if Sean can't be there in person.

I highly doubt we’re going to throw the ball much. It’s going to be a VERY conservative game plan.

Jameis was only averaging 25 pass attempts in his six full games with a far healthier team around him. Does anyone actually think we’re going to let Book sling it?

No I don’t but I did not see much from either QB this season, pick one, that would lead me to believe Book has better than a 50/50 shot at matching or exceed our QB performance so fast for this season.

Saints tried to lure Drew Brees out of retirement with season on the line

Brees was reportedly in Hawaii when the Saints called and seriously considered coming out of retirement, but after talking through the opportunity decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

I wouldn’t come back either. Play behind this O-Line with these WR’s?! Plus he would push back his HOF eligibility by a year.

No way would I want Brees under behind that make-shift O-line and a bunch of scrubs (collectively) at WR.

Re: Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

Circle back to the Saints pre-season when Ian was under center. He and Easop Winston Jr did some good things together.

Maybe Winston sees more action vs Dolphins at the wideout. What's the worst that can happen? I've been so discouraged by the lack of production of Trequan Smith & Stills, it's not even funny anymore.

Both (Ian/Easop) were on the practice squad together, so you never know ... maybe there was some "chemistry" between the two.

Brace yourself folks …

Carl Granderson added to the Covid list.

JP, do you still have any pass rushing skills left

This is getting out of hand.

I saw that too, K. I hope Davenport is good to go with that knee injury. We’re gonna be thin if he can’t play

Re: Saints vs Dolphins Pre-Game Discussion

If the Saints lose Monday and Book shows anything worthwhile I'd be keeping him in the rest of the way. They won't but imho they should. See what the kids got, cause Hill isn't the long term answer. Hill is well worth his money in the role he played with Drew and as back up/3rd QB

Right about the time we need to be healthy to make a playoff push, this team just continues to go in the opposite direction.

Anyone else notice Green Bay "HOLD ON" to win against the Browns? Not scripted but manipulated! Not even attempting to be subtle anymore! Make sure Mr. Rodgers gets his MVP!!!

Green Bay have been getting questionable calls for years

Not just that but a couple plays earlier the Browns clearly picked up a first down on a running play and the refs stopped everything and acted so confused and really took their time calling it a first down. It killed the Browns momentum and let the Packers defense re-group.
