this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; From what I can tell the Saints basically need to win out and have a team or two, (like the iggles and viqueens), lose a game or two for the Saints to have a shot at the post season....

Question about the playoffs

Re: Question about the playoffs
Observe the position of the Ref on this play, and know there was another one who saw it from pretty much this angle. Neither of them saw this?
LOL...I mean...bah hahahahahah...gasp, spit. BAH HAHAHAHA Roger doesn't want us anywhere near his playoffs this year. Roger wants KC, Tampon, GB, Dallas, LA, etc...and that's precisely what he will get, because this: |

According to playoffstatus.com, the Saints still have a 70% chance of making the playoffs even if they drop a game. It's best if that game is to Miami as the conference record will determine the seeding in ties of 3 or more teams. With both the Eagles and the 49ers, the big question is whether or not their opponents in week 18 (Cowgirls, Rams respectively) have anything to play for. Both are already in the playoffs. Cowgirls already won the division. Week 18 will be about seeding for each of them. One or both could decide they are good and rest their people week 18. That can impact the outcomes. Absolute best scenario for the Saints is the Vikings put up a good showing next Sunday night and send the Packers packing. That would trigger each of the other three division winners (Sucks, Cowgirls, and probably Rams) to a full go week 18 trying to snatch that #1 seed from the Packers. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

We are back to the days of praying for help. At least we're going to get to see the rook.
Fins won't lay down. Neither will Carolina or Atlanta. All winnable. All losable. |

Yes sir.
I know we're short-handed tonight but win out, you punch your own ticket to the playoffs. Lose tonight? Well, like Saintfan put it ... "pray for help". |

Re: Question about the playoffs
I don't see any of the 3 teams not named the Packers tanking week 18. Seeding is more than for the first round. You want to be hosting if you can in the second round, and only 2nd seed gets that guaranteed.
