No team in the NFL can account for losing your starting qb for the year and then your backup for 4 weeks after that. You basically were stuck with your 3rd stringer, Semien, making 4 starts. I’m not a taysom as qb fan but even I’m realistic enough to realize that if we had had him for any of those 4 games we lost before his first start that we may have gotten at least two of those. That puts you at 8 maybe 9 wins right now with a backup qb, injuries everywhere, hurricane relocation and Covid wipeout. Not to mention our caps situation before the season. Yes this was ugly, but it could be much worse considering everything I just mentioned. We have two weeks left a real legitimate shot at a playoff spot. You can’t consider this season a failure if this team gets in the tournament.

Agreed. Our coaches this year have all but worked a miracle. I have little interest in the playoffs now for a few weeks. Always fun to hope of course. This team just needs a lot of work. Any real shot we had (in my opinion) went down with Jameis, but he was playing with one hand tied behind his back and a WR group that can't even catch covid...

They caught it...and dropped it.

I swear give me MT, Calloway, and everybody else is either on notice or (why bother) gone. Include Smith. I believe he got hurt again last night...or maybe it was a career decision. I am not a fan.

Last week he was popped by Lavante' David early in the first quarter, then disappeared. Saw him briefly last night but even before he got "hurt", non-factor.

If the Saints want to improve their WR core in 2022, you let him walk in Free Agency. We need a young dawg who can move the chains & catch tough passes in traffic.

Collectively, the worst WR group Sean Payton has ever had in NO.
