Re: Saints at Falcons Pre-Game Discussion
Nick Underhill had the count of different o-line configurations at 10 yesterday, but the message is the same. Continuity is key to the success of offensive lines. We have seen anything but continuity this season. In our most efficient offensive years we had the same starting five almost every game.

Re: Saints at Falcons Pre-Game Discussion
Earlier in the year when Ram was healthy and a few of the others missed time, we plugged in guys like Throckmorton and didn't miss a beat. The minute Ram went out, the line pretty much turned into swiss cheese - especially vs the Dolphins.

If the defense can pressure skid britches and hit him a few times, we win.
He has to be uncomfortable in the pocket. Pressure him and we get 2 picks and win by 10. |

Re: Saints at Falcons Pre-Game Discussion
Obviously it’s our defense and special teams that’s been able to put us in the position we are now with a chance to make the playoffs in the last week of the season. However I will note that, for the most part, the Saints offense, although yardage and point lacking, has at least not screwed up and made a lot of turnovers to make things worse. There have been three and outs, but there of been just enough drives with a battered o-line against defenses that have been keyed to stop Kamara to make wins happen. One under rated aspect has been the occasional deep ball to Callaway which have kept drives alive and got the team the few points they have. Maybe the passing game will be more open this week. It seems like there have been plays there to make. Hopefully Hill has the time and awareness to hit those plays.

Re: Saints at Falcons Pre-Game Discussion
Also Taysom has had time to recover somewhat from injuries, his threat of running the ball should keep the Birds LB's guessing.
If we can use Kamara on more quick out passes instead of trying to drive the middle on 1st and 2nd downs. |
