Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Agree completely. I'm thinking they're just keeping him through this next week just to rest our two keepers.

Re: Michael Thomas Progress
I feel like there is a significant chance that Michael Thomas may never play again, or may never significantly contribute. But at the same time I think the way we manage our salary cap it may make sense on short term thinking to keep restructuring his contract over and over to push the bill down the road. So he we may pay out every last dollar on his contract and possibly more for nothing. That is the problem with Loomis-nomics. When we get caught in a bad contract there is no way to get out and the contract effectively becomes guaranteed for the duration because everything depends on restructuring all the big contracts every year and that means never getting out of a big contract. Look maybe Thomas does recover, maybe the contract becomes a bargain, but this way of managing our cap is unsustainable because eventually we will get into bad big contracts and we need the option of getting out of long term deals not locking them in.

Re: Michael Thomas Progress
MT won’t miss the start of the season and will immediately be a major contributor for this team.

Re: Michael Thomas Progress
The reports didn’t really give me a reason to think otherwise. The regular season doesn’t start for 3 weeks. The Saints could let him rest the “little hamstring issue” just to be safe if they want to. If they reported a tear I’d be a little more worried, but I don’t see a reason to hit the panic button right now. So yeah, he’ll start week 1 in my opinion.
