Nope. They say that every year.

Was he not healthy and ready to go last season? He came out and balled right away. Completely healthy. He then suffered a totally unrelated injury similar to those suffered by both Ruiz and Penning.

Literally. Could be the Saints slogan at this point.

Maybe he's on to something.

MT is about a month away from taking his physical (big signing bonus is due if he passes) & another substantial check.

Not just any WR. I said if Quentin Johnston falls to 20 we should trade up.

RE Michael Thomas, he's barely played football the last couple years. I'm OK with coach working him back slowly.

I wonder if Quentin is even on the Saint's draft board?

I do know the Packers & Chicago are in dire need of a top-quality WR in Rd1.

Yes, he was healthy. The big question is can he stay healthy if he is ready to play?

That's a question that can be asked about any player that steps foot on an NFL field. As they say, the NFL is a 100% injury sport. It's not IF a player is going to suffer an injury it is WHEN. Thomas has suffered two serious injuries in his career. He played in no less than 15 games each of the previous four seasons. He may go ten years without another injury or get injured on another freak play on the first snap.

Sadly, it's a young man's game. When we age we heal slower, hurt more, and have old lingering injuries that haunt our comebacks. I know, I've had several comebacks that were limited by injury. Things like joints are weaker. Michael Thomas' game conditioning could be called into question having played so little in the last three years.

I've been successful coming back from injury, but I was rarely a starter at that point, and was more of a role player toward the end before one of my previous injuries shut me down completely. Of course, I was 60, so....

We need MT to be fully healthy and I hope he can but I'm not enthusiastic just yet.

Freak injuries occur but they happen more often to players who aren't ready for contact. MT might be ready before TC. Fingers crossed.:beatnik:

One thing going for Thomas is that his body hasn't taken the wear and tear of a normal seven years of continual play. Beyond the two lower extremity injuries the rest of his body should be as fresh as could be.
