Some other options at QB if we are not able to retain Winston.

Tyler Huntley. He declined a lot in his last two starts those were against Aaron Donald and TJ Watt. He has upside at least. He might be available for a 2nd round pick or so, and his cap number is nothing.

Jared Goff. If the Lions get another QB or decide to rebuild or draft one, Goff could be cut and could sign for a league minimum type salary. Not sure but perhaps it would be a situation where Goff is still owed money by the Lions and any dollar he gets elsewhere is offset out of that so he may have no incentive to seek a high salary. I believe Goff is a better QB than Hill, Book, or Bortles and could win with a great defense like a Trent Dilfer. Is Jimmy Garrapalo like slightly better? Sure. But do I want to trade a pick, pay $20 million, and accept 5 weeks per season on the IR for 10% better? Pass.

That line is awful
Going to watch teams maul the middle of it all year if they don't improve it.

Tumbleweed Peat & Ruiz ... weak links.

At least we have Dougie Marrone on staff now. Maybe he can get these men to start performing up to their draft status.
