We mustn't forget that Ruiz was changing positions and had no meaningful offseason at all his rookie year and played virtually every game his second year without either, or both, of the outstanding starters to his left and right due to all the time that McCoy and Ramczyk missed. Another plus is he isn't made of glass like Armstead and Peat being the only starter to play every snap of the season.

I'm curious to see what he does with Doug Marrone leading the group.
I could have sworn Peat missed some time this past season.

I worded that badly. Ruiz was the only one who played every snap. I'll fix it.

So, according to the cliche being past around when talking about Armstead's value - "the best ability is availability" - Ruiz was the best O-lineman this past season?!

Best? I'd argue that availability is one of the more important qualities...

Especially when you're considering a contract extension beyond age 34...

Don't shoot the messenger - that's what the talking heads keep spouting and their audience keeps parroting.

No, not at all. Know I've b*tched and moaned ad nauseum about how often Armstead, aka Mr. Glass, missed time.

Recently I posted that I'd rather have an offensive lineman that grades at 80-85 but plays all 16, 17 games a year and keeps the line continuity intact,

Versus an elite offensive lineman, dancing bear type who is a 90-95 grade but misses 5-7 games a year and the team record is mediocre...

Give me the guy that shows up to work every game...

You are correct.

3 of 5 season-ending IR. Peat is as brittle as they come.

Soft as cotton & highly compensated to sit & watch. Some people here will defend & make excuses for this guy until the end of time though

I defended him being extended. My enthusiasm waned early. Now I'm in the group with pitchforks.
