2022 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Twitter I can't say I agree on the writer's take on Penning. He has Penning as a "project" that will begin the season as the backup to Hurst at LT....

No doubt Trevor will take his share of lumps (he'll face good to elite DE's every week) at LT as a rookie, but long term I see a dawg. His hand placement & leverage is my only initial concern. Honestly, I'm more concerned about Ruiz at RG than Penning at LT.

Forrest Lamp may not be a bad "option" (if he can stay healthy) at guard either ... assuming Cesar doesn't get it together in year #3. Ruiz is a Sean Payton draft pick. I'm not so sure Dennis Allen will be as patient. If the light bulb doesn't come this season, he can have a seat. Was never a fan of the Ruiz pick.

X factor here is Dougie M as our O line coach.

Good battles at camp .
