That said, anything he gives us in rushing is lagniappe; sure Saints FO, Coaches, Scouting know they scored a coup in signing him as an UDRFA...

Guess that makes the Saints not signing very cap friendly contracts in Sony Michel and/or Darrel Williams, especially Williams, that much more puzzling...

Know many in Saints locker room have a lot of time, friendship invested in Ingram, but what does he have left in the tank?!? I've not seen it...

And then of course is the expected suspension of Alvin Kamara for the Las Vegas Meltdown he had, chasing down a man with fellow NFLers on a beat down...
One has to consider that despite his age, he does not have as many miles as other RBs . It took him three years to learn the position, and then split time at the position. He's got at least one good year left in him.

Ingram definitely has the mileage on him, just not the production; and it took him the whole of his rookie contract, five seasons, to learn what Sean wanted from him...

That said, after all that development, felt the Saints would've been absolutely stupid not to extend him to recoup the investment, which he validated that extension...

He picks up the blitz well and better suited for short yardage at this point, but to be toting the load multiple games , no. We need fresher legs for that. I see us picking up a good rb on cut day. Kamara want be back for some time.

I'm optimistic this Baylor UDFA RB can be the real deal, and I'd like to see these type of young guys get the reps instead of picking up vets like Freeman last season.

Well, we've gotten spoiled to hitting gold among the UDRFAs, so I've tempered my expectations...

My hope is Abram Smith can supplant Dwayne Washington (poor RB), as Smith was also an exceptional LBer, he's had great preparation for special teams...

Now, Smith gives us some solid rushing when other RBs are down, allowing the offense to stay balanced, great; if he's an exceptional RB, that's lagniappe...
