We'll likely never have a chance again without Payton. I honestly feel that we stand a better shot of winning another Lombardi a.) with Payton while overcoming any bias (contrived or real) than we would b.) without Payton on an unbiased, level playing field. Not to mention it would be FAR more satisfying.

In the 40 odd years prior to Payton's arrival in New Orleans I never truly felt like winning the championship was an achievable goal. Since he's been with us I see it as just that ... and achievable goal.

Exactly how would one overcome 'contrived' bias?

Here's the translation: lots of people have been talking about bias in the NFL, and you have attacked all of them. Myself included. You defended the indefensible and attacked us all for stating what any idiot (cept you of course, because you're a special idiot) could see.

Now the data is in and you're wrong. Dead wrong, about a very obvious thing that was right before your eyes, and you STILL can't admit it (thus 'contrived') but you want in on the game cause that's what all the cool people are talking about. Bah hahaha.

Poor little speedo. You'll never get on NFL radio, and nothing you say will ever be taken seriously. Such is the life of a little man with no convictions, only ego...

C'mon Man...

This is likely the absolute truth and a big part of the reason I only watch enough of the Saint to carry on conversations with my 80 year old mother during the season.

I think the NFL has been shading games to their liking for a long time.

Unfortunately, I have also come to the conclusion that the Saints lone Superbowl appearance was also aided by the NFL.

I can't really think only the bad stuff that happened to the Saints was due to NFL shenanigans.

Sucks but in the past three years I have come to realize that many of the things I naively believed just aren't true.

Football is very minor compared to the horrible things we, as a country, have done to our elderly and our youngest in the name of power and money.

Agreed.

Minny missed tackle was one thing, that was a player mistake.
The no call was flat out robbery that the NFL knew they could screw us with.

If that had happened to Tom Brady and he shouted at the refs, he would have convinced them to throw a flag if one didn't already get thrown.

Honestly, just thinking about that moment, I wished Payton or one of the players would have purposely decked that line Judge and Bill Vinovich.

We pissed off Godhell when we beat Peyton and spoiled selling all of his fan gear in NY 2006. We can beat other teams and the refs. Even with the refs against us we beat a lot of good teams. Screw Godhell!
