No to Dennis Allen. He’s not HC material.

Past history suggests that def coordinators do not transition well as Head Coaches. Fangio, Romeo C, Saleh, Allen (Raiders) have failed.

Bellichick is the outlier.

Mike Tomlin, Pete Carroll, Mike Vrabel, Sean McDermott, Ron Rivera, Braden Staley, etc. Belichick is not an outlier.

Some guys are meant to be coordinators though. Whether Allen is one of them, who knows. I'm sure we'll find out sooner than I'd like to know.

I’m speaking in terms of championships.

Nonetheless, Dennis isn’t HC material. His background is all defense and I don’t see him as an offensive mind.

Correct. But the part about interviewing others by the Saints makes sense.
