The compensation it would take to get a Wilson trade done doesn’t bother me. The money is the problem. Brees commanded so much cap for so many years and people don’t talk about how he kept us pigeon held for so long by not doing the Tom Brady discount. I say bring Winston back before he ****s around and signs in Pittsburgh. At one point I would have been comfortable with any of the quarterbacks they mentioned as long as Payton was here, but with him gone either bring back Winston or spend a 1st round pick on a QB.

I'm sorry, but I'm flabbergasted by the suggestion that Drew's salary was what was chaining us down. First off "chaining us down" is what? Not getting a play away or so away from the SB the last 4 years, like we DID? Sure Drew in his prime years got his max (wouldn't you?!) but his later contracts were very team friendly, good but not as great as he could have commanded had he went elsewhere. People forget so quickly.

What I wonder is if an incoming coach would want to roll with either Winston OR Hill. I’m down with Winston back but who knows about the next HC.

Drew’s play in the playoffs is a large reason we were only a play away over the last four years. He was mediocre and often exposed in the offs for his inability to push the ball downfield. He should have took the discount in the early 2010’s instead of towards the end of his career. Maybe we could have spent more money on the defense and we could have overcome some of those failures. The thing is, I really remember. 15 TD’s and 11 INT’s in the playoffs since the 2013 season.
