Agreed, and its not a slander of Brees at all.

In the Playoffs the last few years, the opposition defensive scheme was simple;

Double Mike Thomas, leave a spy on Kamara in the flats.
Because that basically was our offense and teams knew it. The minute they did that, they dared guys like Trequan to beat them, which couldn't happen and Brees couldn't stretch the field enough to keep the D honest.

This.

Not to derail the thread, but this is PRECISELY why I’ll continue to beat a dead horse on signing a LEGIT WR this off season.

Once good defenses bottled up MT, it was over.

2022 draft & subsequent Free agency signings will be critical for the Saints success this season.

Agreed! We are just a few key pieces from being an elite team once again. There's no need for a "rebuild" as some seem to be expecting.

Who are the "some" mr passive-aggressive? The same "some" who think, according to you, that a black QB can't perform as well as a white one?

Every step you take. Every post you make.

Yeah, nice words (a few of them) but clearly you don't if you're dropping 60% on Drew.

Even though I don't agree with his percentages, I believe what he is saying is Brees was great at getting us to individual pinnacles mainly over the last half of his career here, but didn't have anymore what was needed to push us over that peak by himself at the end.

Correct me if I am wrong, Rez.

I gave multiple reasons why I placed so much blame on his shoulders. Had he won a few of those Super Bowls it would be him getting the bulk of the credit like most Quarterbacks do, but he’s above getting the bulk of the blame?

Basically. He limited our offense too much. Had he been an average Quarterback we would have been dead on offense, but his accuracy, intelligence, and eye movement was so good he still produced at a high level, but he had become one dimensional in a changing league. Tom Brady aged like Floyd Mayweather. Drew Brees aged like Roy Jones, Jr.

The blame should fall on Payton. He should have benched Brees in the 2nd half against the Bucs and gone with Winston. I understand loyalty and all that but it don't win games.
