"Wild Card" Coaching Candidates

Apologies in advance for posting this, but it was just too funny not to share...

Quote:

The “Wild Cards”

Drew Brees

Current job: NBC television analyst

The skinny: He’s never coached a down, unless you count his kids in FNA football, but no one knows the inner workings of this franchise better. If you were even going to go down a rabbit hole for a coach with zero experience, here’s your guy.

Nick Saban

Current job: University of Alabama head coach

The skinny: If Payton was reportedly making in the $15 million range, could you throw that kind of money at Saban and get him to leave Tuscaloosa to return to Louisiana, an area he loved in his time here? If you land him, maybe he can hire Brees on his staff and put the two together, which of course didn’t happen in Miami in 2006.

Lol on Brees.

Seriously speaking though, I'd like the idea of Joe Lombardi as HC. The Chargers were very explosive (top 5) offensively.

It helps to have Hebert as your QB but still.

Bahahahaha! Oh geez. Some of that is just pure rubbish.

Andrus Peat. If he retires to take a non-player job he could forfeit prorated bonuses and help get our salary cap to place where we can think about adding pieces. Michael Thomas for offensive coordinator. Taysom Hill for special teams coach.

I was thinking the same thing when people talked about KCs and Buffalos OCs as potential hires. Having a stud QB can make a coach look very good.

That is my feelings on someone like Leftwich, who had the GOAT to run the offense for him.

My wildcard vote is for Kyle Turley, but it is being met with resistance from my son who recently returned from a trip to Jamaica, for some reason his choice is Ricky Williams to lead us forward. Crazy

Saban is going to win the national championship easily next year, no way he'd leave Alabama. I'd take him if he'd come though.

Most people don't realize how made Saban has it. He has literally achieved god status in Alabama. If he wanted to use the cheerleading squad as a sidewalk or a park bench they'd assume the position.
