Re: Saints hire Dennis Allen as Head Coach
So what did the Saints talk about when they interviewed Bienemy for 8 hours? That's a long Interview, isn't it? Is it remotely possible he's not really HC material if he's getting passed by every time?

Re: Saints hire Dennis Allen as Head Coach
Pederson hasn't done anything special at all. He one a Super Bowl with a QB a lot of confidence and hot streak who performs especially well in the clutch and then they subsequently went and got rid of him and went with their 1st round draft pick Wentz who actually got worse the longer he was on the team. Pederson was handed a SB, he didn't really earn it from my perspective. People act like he did something great but he didn't. We will be incredibly thankful we didn't get him in a couple of years when he gets fired.
As I stated before though, I'm terrified of being stuck in mediocrity. I see all these teams with great QBs and we need to find a way to put one on our team. You want to see a perfect example of why you need good QB play to get to the SB and win, just look at the Titans. The game between the Bengals really revolved around two possessions one for the Titans, the other for the Bengals. The Titans guy threw a pick, the Bengals guy threw a great pass to get his team in FG range. It's almost impossible to win in this league without good QB play. You don't even need a good offense. You can be a defensive oriented team. You just need a guy that can make that play when you need it and not **** everything up when you really don't need him to. |

It's the right decision imo. Wish him the best of luck.

No disrespect to Pete Carmichael, but I hope Dennis brings in a fresh offensive mind. Pete helped Sean Payton run Sean’s offense. Let’s not run this thing with the “ghost” of Sean Payton hanging over everything.

Re: Saints hire Dennis Allen as Head Coach
I think DA deserves a shot and as many have said here Sean is handing over a stable foundation. Pete at OC will be crucial to the transition. As for Pederson my gut tells me he wouldn't capture the locker-room. But I was liking the idea of Flores coming in, when it comes to the NFL he speaks our language. Now I like Lovie Smith but I think the Texans made a huge mistake but time will tell.

Re: Saints hire Dennis Allen as Head Coach
I know a lot of people wanted a complete change, but this is not a bad team that fired its coach. This is a team that had a winning record, a great defense, and narrowly missed the playoffs despite having an unprecedented number of players injured/out with covid. Is a little continuity here a bad thing?

As you stated, fresh/new ideas should be welcomed. Guess we'll find out. |
