Re: Michael Thomas back in New Orleans and in a good place
I’m betting he tries to force a trade. Without a Qb or Payton nobody is going to want to play here. In todays NFL players like Thomas call the shots. He will try and weasel his way onto a team he thinks can get him a ring.
It’s going to be very tough unless we get very lucky like we did with Payton and Brees. I doubt Winston even wants to come back, especially if the Steelers rumors are true. |

Re: Michael Thomas back in New Orleans and in a good place
Will a cap guru explain how you even consider trading Thomas? Per spotrac the dead cap hit would be massive.
Spotrac - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orle...-thomas-18996/ Why have 3 holes at WR instead of 2? Oh, & what Free Agent QB would be willing to come and play for a team with no WRs? Another hard sell. Don't see MT going anyplace. |

The Saints are more likely to convert his $15.5 million in base salary and/or his combined $950K in roster and workout bonuses to a signing bonus and free up a chunk toward that $76 million figure. That requires NOT trading him. So, no, it makes zero sense to even consider trading him either financially or strategically. |

Mike is absolutely saying all the right things right now. If that continues, he will likely be with the Saints for a very long time. If he decides to be disruptive, I can assure you the Saints will move on from him and deal with the cap hit.
