It's about his daughter. He's trying to get a big hook in #BigMedia so he can help her advance without having to put time in on her back as ugly as that sounds...
If you're a Dad with a daughter, you'd appreciate this fully; he's had a *****ly relationship with media till his daughter went that way with her education, profession... |

I'm concerned he's going to get too comfortable working less while getting paid a lot more. He has a ring and really has nothing to prove. How crappy would that be?
I hope Jerry is sending him and his wife gift baskets every week and when the time comes, a loaded Brinks truck to his front door. |

I would guess the vast majority of coaches in the league would give up coaching for that deal in a second, especially if they are approaching the age of sixty, but only a very select few will ever get that opportunity. That's why I seriously doubt Payton returns to coaching, especially in a market like Dallas.
But one never knows. |

Dallas fans have been delirious for over a quarter of a century thinking that their team is still relevant.

If I were him, I'd take the 12+ million a year calling games and not get back into coaching. I'm not him though. I rather get draft picks opposed to love hearing him call games for the rest of his career. That does not benefit the Saints. |
