Re: Malcolm Jenkins retires

I'm glad he did this before the draft.

Good luck with life after football.

Re: Malcolm Jenkins retires

Mistake was letting Vonn Bell go and bringing Malcolm Jenkins back; Bell has flourished in Cincy while Jenkins was a liability in coverage for us...

Will be curious to see if Sorensen is moved to SS (he's accustomed to playing FS) of if Gardner is moved to SS and we sign or draft a NB...

A healthy Marcus Maye makes an excellent strong safety. CJ fits perfectly at FS.

Re: Malcolm Jenkins retires

Congrats to Jenkins and having a SOLID NFL CAREER.

Was one of the only 2 remaining Saints still playing from the 09 SB team.

Enjoy your retirement sir.

Jenkins appears set for life. Still relatively young, has business ventures in place, and has dabbled in the broadcasting field in the past.

Re: Malcolm Jenkins retires

So, all the people suggesting we needed to draft his replacement were right?

Considering the money being paid, I'd be real surprised if Marcus Maye is moved from the position he's played, Free Safety, to Strong Safety...

If Maye fully recovers, he'd have the best range on the backend of the defense; maybe while he still recovers we see some cover 2 with Sorensen...

Can also see Roby moving to the nickel with Gardner taking over at SS...

Re: Malcolm Jenkins retires

We'll draft a replacement. It's OK. Learn can't do it when Leon gets too old.

We should not have let Jenkins go to Philly in the first place.
