Fire Mickey Loomis for giving up a 3rd round pick for Andy dalton!!!

Good reporting here. After all these dumb moves I am done with being a Mickey Mouse organization.

The Saints canceled out the comp pick they would have received for losing Terron Armstead in order to secure a $3 million backup qb to replace the $10 million backup qb/te they realized cant play qb.

Who cares about a comp pick in the tail end of the 3rd round at best?

No team I am aware of in the history of the nfl draft has ever gone home and refused to draft a player when they had a 3rd-4th round pick, so every player values them. Matt Ryan just got traded for a 3rd round pick. I hate Matt Ryan, but if we ever do need to move up a few slots, trade for a veteran, or find the next jahri evans or alvin kamara, a pick in round 3-4 is value you dont throw away.

If you’re tired of this “Mickey Mouse” organization and the success they’ve had under Loomis then don’t let the door hit your butt on the way out. The falcon boards are always looking for fans.

New HC, new assistants, new ideas. A different approach leading up to this year's draft. Jeff Ireland knows football/scouting a lot better than me.

Sometimes change is good.

Let's see how this pans out. Can't wait for the draft.

It was Sean Payton and Drew Brees that got us out of that, Loomis was just an accountant who hung on for the ride. Mickey Loomis can go to the Falcons board when he is fired next year. He is just like Calvin Ridley, betting on his own team even when the consequences are that they lose a first round pick.

I liked the Dalton signing but didn't know it cost us a third rounder.

Yeah conceptually I liked it before I found out about it costing us a comp pick. Patience is a virtue. We should have had patience. And also what happens if a great amazing QB falls to us in the the draft and outplays Dalton in camp? Then we gave up a valuable draft pick for a 3rd string QB who is not guaranteed to make the team?

But don't worry, we can always trade our 2024 1st round pick to move back into the 3rd round in 2023.

The title is misleading IMO. It's based on the calculations of next year's comp picks and that signing Dalton wipes away one of the potential 3rd rounders for Williams and Armstead, while the signing of Maye already wiped the other.

If this leads to someone wanting Loomis to be fired - I really don't know what to say to that person, except "you be you "
