It's pretty simple for me: Is there any QB that has the talent of Mahommes, Herbert, or Jackson in this draft? The answer is no. So, stay put. SFIAH |
Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
If we move up for a QB I will be sad.

Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
Most mock drafts have us grabbing Penning or Cross at 16 and Olave at 19 and I’d be more than happy with that to start things off. Realistically we’ll probably trade both first to move up for a qb then grab a safety in the second lol

Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
Shades of the 2018 QB class ... Goff, Wentz, Paxton Lynch, etc.
Go get you a quality starter o lineman &/or WR. Stay put, please. |
Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
I think WR is a given and should be easily attainable where we’re currently picking. If we’re banking on getting a LT though… that’s a pretty big gamble to assume one will be there at 16. I could see Neal, Ekwonu and Cross all going top 10. That would leave Penning and any team could jump ahead of us for him now that we’ve shown our cards.
I wouldn’t want Bernhard Raimann because he’ll be a 25 year old rookie who still needs development. Tyler Smith is really raw and better suited to move inside to guard. I guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the first round picks was someone completely out of left field. |
Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
Is anyone in this draft worth what would amount to THREE first round picks and then some? We would essentially be giving up what the Browns gave up for Watson, possibly more.
I am ok trading and walking away with two day one impact players (one would hope) but trading up doesn’t jive with the idea of pumping the breaks on the cap spending. Side note- watch this be the best Qb class in NFL history. And no I don’t want a Qb. |
Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
It's only two first round picks. In 2022 and 2023 the Saints had 2 1st round picks. They still have two first round picks, just both in 2022 now. If they traded up into the top 10, which is certainly hope they won't do, then they get 1 1st round player for 2 first round picks.
Now presumably they lose the 2nd and the 7th they already traded. They may lose other lower picks. But trading a 1st round next year for a 1st round this year is a swap, not a loss of a pick. SFIAH |
Re: Possible Trade to #4 With Jets?
Stay put and fill your needs in the first round with two picks. This idea of trading up again just doesn't seem as beneficial.
